The Center for Reproductive Rights, a non-governmental organization that advocates for legalized abortion, is urging the United Nations Committee Against Torture to tell the Catholic Church that the freedom of speech and of religion do not give the church the right to advocate against abortion.
When the committee met in Geneva on Monday for a hearing on the Vaticans compliance with the Convention Against Torture, Vice Chairperson Felice Gaer, an American, said in her opening statement that laws that ban all abortionwhich is the position of the Catholic Churchmay violate the convention. She also repeated verbatim some language that had been in a letter the CRR had sent to the committee on April 11.
Gaer, however, did not quote the section in CRRs letter that urged the committee to tell the church that the freedoms of religion and speech did not give the church a right to advocate against abortion.

I will vote for the person that promises to send these a$$holes packing.
When I first read dystopian SciFi, I always wondered what life would be like in one of those fantastical imaginings.
Now I know. No joke intended. I genuinely know.
Evil. No other word for it.
And where does their money come from — I’d like to know who is financing this so-called “NGO”?
What they really want to do is kill five or six billion people.
In other words, the CRR believes the Church is subject to permission of the State to exist. They think wrong.
” the freedom of speech and of religion do not give the church the right to advocate against abortion.”
In what universe does this make any sense?
