The Center for Reproductive Rights, a non-governmental organization that advocates for legalized abortion, is urging the United Nations Committee Against Torture to tell the Catholic Church that “the freedom of speech and of religion” do not give the church the right to advocate against abortion.

When the committee met in Geneva on Monday for a hearing on the Vatican’s compliance with the Convention Against Torture, Vice Chairperson Felice Gaer, an American, said in her opening statement that laws that ban all abortion—which is the position of the Catholic Church—may violate the convention. She also repeated verbatim some language that had been in a letter the CRR had sent to the committee on April 11.

Gaer, however, did not quote the section in CRR’s letter that urged the committee to tell the church that the freedoms of religion and speech did not give the church a right to advocate against abortion. …

We need to tear that building down.

I'll tell you right now that if one of those muzzie terrorists had flown a 757 into the UN building I'd have cheered.

I still will should any muslim extremist fly a 757 full of fuel into the UN Building.

Shows the so-called CRR’s thinking to be exactly along the lines of Marxism-Leninism.

Funny, they never tell Muslims they have no right to beat women, hang homosexuals, stone rape victims, sodomize children, blow up cafes, crash aircraft in to buildings.....etc....etc....etc...

You finance them through your tax dollars confiscated at the point of a gun. The U.S. virtually single handedly finances the U.N.

Gaer says

Well excuuse me, and my lying eyes. I read and understand the Constitution of the United States a bit differently.

Here's the well intentioned double-talker;

The Jewish community has long promoted international human rights. Felice D. Gaer continues this tradition as director of the Jacob Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights at the American Jewish Committee, vice-chair of the U.N. Committee Against Torture, and commissioner on the US Commission on International Religious Freedom. PresenTense spoke to Gaer about how her Jewish values inform her own commitment to human rights, the current tensions between the Jewish community and the wider human rights community, and the importance of finding common ground.

Check it out

Some highlights;

What are some priorities for Jewish human rights activists such as yourself?

"Promoting religious freedom for all, fighting anti-Semitism worldwide, promoting humane treatment for all, stopping torture, ending violence against women, fighting for non-discrimination and equality throughout the world.

Key to these or any human rights advocacy is to ensure accountability for the perpetrators of gross abuses and preventing genocide and gross violations of rights. This is itself a means of protecting the rights of communities we are concerned about. In other words, social justice starts with knowing you have human rights, and claiming them requires that when there are violations, there must be an effective means to complain to and challenge the State, seeking redress for injustice."

What about little Jewish babies? Don't they get a chance to be born? Or shall there be no "social justice" for them if it is inconvenient for the mother? There won't be any more Jews without Jewish mothers. Can't be done. To be born into that religion, the mother is the key. She is the carrier, not the father. Correct? Tell us again about genocide..?

How about little black babies? Can they have some of that social justice stuff, or is that too much to ask?

What are some of the most significant issues that arise in the organized Jewish community’s relationship to the human rights community?
The most significant issues have been (a) finding substantive areas of agreement on issues to address; (b) ensuring there are similar standards for assessing human rights (no double standards) and (c) finding ways to collaborate as well as to speak out for one another, including interacting on the basis of respect for one another.

Can she hear herself talk? She seems to be only half-listening.

After some further questions, with one last being about her "community" and the human rights community (whatever the heck that is) she ends with;

We need to work actively to overcome the divisions and strains between such groups, as there is so much each has in common with the other. Moreover, the issues cry out for attention – religious repression, physical abuse, discrimination, intimidation, violence, dehumanization, and more.

Particular issues that we’re cooperating on are human rights in China, ending torture and giving information to the mothers of Tiananmen Square victims; working to achieve freedom of expression, such as opposing the global blasphemy law and ensuring religious liberties; and supporting the referendum in south Sudan and a comprehensive peace in that region.

Justice for all --- except for the unborn yet in the womb, and no respect for religious rights and freedom of speech for those who speak against the murder of human beings whom are alive, but yet to be born...

Dehumanization? really.

It would probably take an act like that to unite all countries to declare “war” on muslim terriorists and sharia.

I’d like to see a referendum on the 2016 ballots that asked if US voters would favor requiring the UN to leave the US.

...perhaps...if the building were cleared of its occupants beforehand (which it wouldn’t be)...but if you’re indifferent to the people being inside, then I’ll tell you right now...that’s ghoulish...

Ask me if I care. I'd be dancing in street throwing candy and flitting my tongue like a fat palestinian b*tch on 9-11 knowing the worthless UN and those who enable it would be dead.

That's not a bad thing. They'd be getting what they deserve.
