Pure Poetry:

Oh oh oh oh
I got a girl named Rama Lama, Rama Lama Ding Dong
She’s everything to me
Rama Lama, Rama Lama Ding Dong
I’ll never set her free
For she’s mine, all mine
Oh oh oh oh

The Edsels!!

Pizza Man - National Lampoon

My Johnnie was a biker, So my parents hated him.
We used to meet secretly Out behind the gym.

Chorus
We used to go for Yoo-Hoos And gooey pizza pie
I loved him (she loved him) I loved him (we loved him)
Laugh? I thought I’d die ...

They said I couldn’t see him, My love for him was wrong.
His bike was much too noisy, His sideburns were too long.
I said farewell to Johnnie, Over one last pizza pie
I hid my tears and even laughed When Johnnie said good-bye

He saw two bike lights up the road And thought he’d try his luck.
He tried to cut between them. He never knew it was a truck.
I ran out on the highway But I couldn’t find my guy.
Between the deisel’s headlights SOMETHING LOOKED LIKE PIZZA PIE

That’s why I stay at home now And don’t go out with boys,
‘Cause when they order pizza I hear my Johnnie’s voice.

With mushrooms, with mushrooms, with mushrooms, with mushrooms.
Love that pizza pie
Anchovies (etc)
Love it till I die
Pepperoni (etc)
Oh that pizza pie
Green peppers (etc)
love it till I die.

One fine day,
You’ll look at me,
and then you’ll know our love was
meant to be.
One fine day
You’re gonna want me for your girl.

(shooby dooby dooby doo, wop wop wop (x2))

I don’t know who it’s by, but it goes great with household chores.

Huh. It seems that Christopher Guest, Sean Kelly, and Tony Hendra combined that song with Leader of the Pack.

Billy Joel – The Longest Time Lyrics

Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
If you said goodbye to me tonight
There would still be music left to write
What else could I do
I’m so inspired by you
That hasn’t happened for the longest time

Once I thought my innocence was gone
Now I know that happiness goes on
That’s where you found me
When you put your arms around me
I haven’t been there for the longest time

Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Oh, oh, oh
For the longest
I’m that voice you’re hearing in the hall
And the greatest miracle of all
Is how I need you
And how you needed me too
That hasn’t happened for the longest time

Maybe this won’t last very long
But you feel so right
And I could be wrong
Maybe I’ve been hoping too hard
But I’ve gone this far
And it’s more than I hoped for

Who knows how much further we’ll go on
Maybe I’ll be sorry when you’re gone
I’ll take my chances
I forgot how nice romance is
I haven’t been there for the longest time

I had second thoughts at the start
I said to myself
Hold on to your heart
Now I know the woman that you are
You’re wonderful so far
And it’s more than I hoped for

I don’t care what consequence it brings
I have been a fool for lesser things
I want you so bad
I think you ought to know that
I intend to hold you for the longest time

I was listening to the 60s on 6 channel on Sirius XM, but just yesterday I turned the dial back to the 50s on 5 for awhile.

The problem with “’50’s on 5” on Sirius is that half the songs they play are from the ‘60’s.

The Chiffons. The song was written by the husband/wife team of Goffin/Carol King (like most of the Monkees songs except for “I’m a Believer” which was written by Neil Diamond).

The Chiffons also did “He’s So Fine” also renowned as the plaintiff song in the now-infamous plagiarism case against George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord”.

The Chiffons also recorded and released “My Sweet Lord”—probably as a way of saying, “come and get me” to George Harrison.
