I always thought the most popular name (especially when I was a kid) was Damn-it ... at least that was what I was called.

I didn’t know my real name till I was 10.

Gosh every kid born in the late seventies was named Scott.

I coached a little league team in the mid 80s. 12 players including the bench and 7 players were named Jason.

Went to sss.gov, queried popular names for my birth year, and I'm number 53. My wife beat me out, she's number 40 for her birth year.

I resemble that post.

Scott here, I had a best friend named Scott and another good friend named Scott that also shared my birthday. There were plenty more, but the three of us lived within 20 houses of each other.

Now, my daughters naming happened just before an extremely popular TV show and many thought she was named for a main character. The truth is, My daughter was born 4 weeks early and my wife and I had only got to the “R’s” in the book of baby names.

There was a cartoon in the New Yorker around 1980. It was a Kindergarten photo, and the caption was:

Scott, Scott, Jennifer, Jennifer, Scott, Jennifer, Scott, Jennifer, Scott, Scott, Jennifer, Mrs. Sadie Greenbaum, Jennifer, Jennifer, Scott, Jennifer, Scott, Scott, Jennifer, Jennifer, Scott, Scott, Jennifer.

The song “Linda” was written in 1948 by Linda McCartney’s father. I don’t remember her maiden name.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Linda” is a popular song. It was written by Jack Lawrence, and published in 1946.

The song was actually written in 1942 when Lawrence was in the service during World War II, taking its name from the then one-year-old daughter of his attorney, Lee Eastman. (His daughter was Linda Eastman, future first wife of the Beatle Paul McCartney.)[1]
