Interesting question. The movie didn’t come out until 2014.

Advance publicity? Between the buzz about the Russell Crowe film and stories about stars who named their babies Noah and the general vogue for biblical names it wasn't hard for Noah to jump from 6th or 8th place to first. Now that it's an established fashion you can bet expectant couples will get tired of it.

Yes, such names missing raises the question of the reliability of the list. I did a search of “Pregnita” and “Brothella” and neither names were in the top 1,000-—hard to believe.

“Barack is not in the top 1000 male names for any year of birth in the last 14 years.” Where is the pride?

Well, it would depend on the men, I suppose. In my circles it would probably be:

Boys: Bud Lite, Tacoma Ram, Chesty, Bull Durham

Girls: Felony Bust, Corona Pabst, Remington, Claymore Ann

...but then I run in fairly genteel circles...

LOL! “Felony Bust”!

Now that I think of it men DO (after a fashion)choose names; NICKNAMES. I think if woman create a nick name it’s meant to denigrate.
