The Texas Longhorns made NFL draft history this week.
And not in a good way.
Six Texas draft hopefuls were skipped over in the NFL draft, including Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Jackson Jeffcoat. For the first time since 1937, the Longhorns failed to have a player selected in the NFL draft. Texas was one of just four schools from college football's five power conferences (Big 12, SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12) to suffer the ignominious feat. Illinois, Northwestern, and fellow Big 12 member Kansas were the others.
The Texas shutout, however, was one of the big surprises of the draft.
The Longhorns entered the weekend with six draft hopefuls, including All-American and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Jackson Jeffcoat, who also won the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end. All 32 NFL teams attended Texas' pro day March 26 to scout Jeffcoat and other Texas prospects.

In a year they draft a fag, no Longhorns are picked.
Man they must feel low right now in Austin.
They weren’t gay, that’s why.
Does Sam the Ram qualify as a long horn?
No skinny little white boyfriends.
No. They’re estatic that a homo was chosen over one of their own. Remember, this is Austin.
I wonder if pressures were brought to bear, to draft Sam, so the NFL can prove how liberal they are.
But, and it’s a big but, Sam could easily be cut in training camp. It’s not unusual for a 7th round pick to not make the team.
I wonder if there would be a media circus, if Sam doesn’t make the cut out of training camp.
Or, would pressures be brought to bear to ensure that he makes the team, so the NFL can have their Jackie Robinson moment, by seeing Sam play in actual games, not just exhibition games.
I know a lot of Orange Bloods here in Dallas, and trust me, they ain’t happy.
“Horny Man-longer Trumps Longhorns in 2014 NFL Selections.”
Mack Brown’s fault.
NBA players got squeamish about playing with AIDs carrier, Magic Johnson.
He quit, again.
Based on those with greater knowledge than me, Sam was considered to be a marginal NFL prospect, a real long shot to make the NFL at all.
Yet here we see he was drafted.
I wonder if pressures will be brought to make sure he makes the cut out of training camp.
It’s not unusual for a 7th round choice to not make the team.
Let's see how many of them sign on as free agents and make their teams.
Wasn’t COlt McCoy a Longhorn?
THat might be an explanation right there.
Jeffcoat was signed by Seattle. He could make the team.
Sam will get a small signing bonus, play a couple of snaps in the pre-season then have free beers for life in any gay bar. I wish the guy well, but thankfully, the next gay player will not have all the fanfare and maybe have the talent too.
