In the less than 48 hours since Michael Sam was drafted to the St. Louis Rams Saturday night, sales of his jersey have already soared to No. 2 out of all of the NFL rookies drafted, OutSports reported. “This is unprecedented for a Day 3 pick, let alone a seventh round pick, to crack the top five rookies sold following Draft weekend,” NFL spokesperson Joanna Hunter told the publication. In other words, the jersey sales are significant because Sam’s became available 48 hours later than those of the other four players in the top five best-sellers.
As of Monday morning, sales of Sam’s jersey ranked second behind Johnny Manziel of the Cleveland Browns — who was drafted in the first round — and ahead of three other players drafted far ahead of him: Jadeveon Clowney of the Houston Texans, Teddy Bridgewater of the Minnesota Vikings, and Blake Bortles of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Just hours after Sam’s selection, it was reported that the NFL was scrambling to fulfill a “ridiculous” quantity of request for Sam’s jersey.

All you haters need to watch ESPN’s beautiful special interest story about Sam and his boyfriend. They have been trying to have children for more than a year without luck. They are exploring in-vitro options, but have not given up on “traditional” anal sex means of becoming parents. Let’s all hope they find out the mysterious cause of the infertility problem. Sam himself was quoted as saying, “if we keep trying I’m sure a little baby will come out of his bottom.”

The NFL, like the NBA (and the Don Sterling issue) only care about one color, and that is green.
If the NFL is seeing “unprecedented” jersey sales for Michael Sam, what does one expect the league to do going forward?
One thing I am glad about....get done with all this “first this” and “first that”.....soon we will run out of firsts....for some reason a lot of groups like to classify themselves and get their “first” in the limelight. The problem is the idiots don’t realize that they have had hundred of gays in the NFL prior to today but they didn’t have to display their sexuality for all to see. The one difference between the hundreds before Sam is that Sam will make a bundle on this. The book deal alone will be low millions.
