The grandmother of a 15-year-old boy slain in the West Pullman neighborhood on Mothers Day said her grandson died just like his father four years ago: gunned down on a Chicago street.
He went just like his father. He got shot twice, Corliss Holeman, the boys paternal grandmother, said Monday in a telephone interview as she fought back tears. I don't believe this. On Mother's Day.

"Her grandsons mother had seven other children, she said." That's a big family.
Chances are good that this family tradition is now over. But you never know. The 15 year old could have left a baby or two around somewhere.
Her grandson was preparing to graduate from Haley Elementary Academy on the Far South Side.
He was very family-oriented. He loved his family, she said. He really loved to play ball.
But Holeman said the family noticed him slipping out into the streets.
He was the typical teenager. . .getting into chaos, she said. We tried to help him.
Holeman last spoke to her grandson about his upcoming graduation.
I just dont know what really happened, she said.
"Typical teenager". "Chaos", huh. Surprised that the father was even known.
On Mother’s Day -—
What will be happening/reported on Father’s Day
Sorry — Baby Daddy’s Day
15 and in elementary school?? My son was in high school by that age.
Last month, I heard a mama say to her child “If you keep on eating that junk, you ain’t gonna get no sugar daddy to marry you.” That sentence was a dentist’s dream and a teacher’s nightmare.
How sad. I can’t imagine how she must feel.
Now on Father's Day, sure. Undoubtedly. Not on Mother's Day though.
Special needs. Gangstas hooked him.
He had just been accepted into Harvard’s Medical school. It might be added that Harvard accepted him without the necessity of Premedical training.
Killed by friendly fire. Called it in, and bought a ricochet. Or else the friend got that holding the gun sideways thing way, way off.
My family’s most noteworthy tradition is that we do well in math. Her family’s tradition is to be gunned down on a Chicago street.
He was 15 and graduating from an elementary school?
Thank goodness Chicago has such draconian gun laws to ensure public safety!
