Their “internationally recognized nation” is just some guys who got together and proclaimed their new nationhood.
No more validity or legality than if you and I were to do the same.
That’s weird, I’ve always been taught that it is unconstitutional to start another “internationally recognized nation” within the sovereign boundaries of the Unites states?
I was even taught that this country once fought a war over that issue.

Here in NJ a group of mulattos (with no Indian DNA) have been trying (unsuccessfully) for years to get federal recognition as an Indian tribe. The NY and NJ governments recognize them (they live along the shared border), but the feds won’t (no ka-ching! for them). These whackos actually have pow-wows, festivals, and such - pure nonsense.
