For LGBT teenagers, burgeoning sexual identity and alcohol mix in powerful and unhealthy ways, a U.S. study suggests.
Presenting the study at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting in Vancouver, early in May, researchers say they’ve found binge drinking among gay and lesbian youth may be caused by chronic stress associated with societal stigmas.
The U.S. study, by the a team at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles in conjunction with the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work, looked at the responses of more than 1,000 gay- and lesbian-identified youth in an online survey.
The survey of gay and lesbian youth between the ages of 12 to 18 was aimed at uncovering factors that make them more likely to engage in binge drinking than their heterosexual peers.
Lead author Dr. Sheree M. Schrager, the Director of Hospital Medicine Research at the Children’s Hospital, worked with USC assistant professor Jeremy Goldbach to figure out the way the results fit the theory of “minority stress.”

A few simple searches confirms exactly your point. The difference is that heteros doing it are not blaming it on society’s pressures or on anyone else. They are doing it for “fun”.

When I was in college “minority stress” manifest itself with a group known as Moonies. They were social outcasts who hooked up with a weird Korean sect. Always taken far away from their home and indoctrinated in whatever rubbish the Rev. Moon was dishing out. A money maker for the Rev., a loser lifestyle for the kids.
Today these LGBTRRANS or whatever they call them self are the new Moonies. They find what appears to be safe harbor with the homosexual freaks. Sad.

Homosexuals are made, not born. Usually made by being molested at a young age by older homosexuals.
There is no genetic component to being attracted to the same sex. It’s a mental illness that manifests as sexual dysfuntion aka perversion.

I read an amazing statistic once that on average heterosexuals admitted to having their first sexual experience at 15.5 years of age, for gays it was 12.5 years! So what, all these gay kids are finding each other at the age of 12 and suddenly indulging in sexual experience while 12 year old heteros are wandering around collecting baseball cards? Or is the first sexual experience with a much older person?
Mostly older homosexuals preying on the young.
I’ve known quite a few lesbians.
Every single one of them was molested repeatedly by a relative or male who was close to the family.
Terribly sad.

Very true. Happened to me; I'm still dealing with the fallout 18 years later.
It is more of an indactor that people with mental health issues tend to “self medicate.”
