Dreary rainy cooler day here....lububrious sums it up. Class is in session....homework on the blackboard, apples on my desk.
That you are! Good morning, early bird!
Is lugubrious one of the upcharge services at Jiffy Lube?
A++ Yeah, but they ludicrously overcharge.
...and with the 182nd. pick in the NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Lugubrious Jones, Defensive Tackle, Apoplectic State.
Good morning! I am tired of the lugubrious weather we have been having all week. Rain, rain, go away, and take this cold front with you!
We have rainy cool lugubrious weather today also. I like it once in awhile and today it suits me bc I’m going to bake some wedding table cookies.
Good day to cheer yourself up baking cookies, then.
What happened to May’s spring flowers? I was just getting comfortable in my sandals, back to shoes and socks with this rain.
My wife saw on Facebook that Kennywood closed at 4 yesterday and gave everyone a raincheck. That was nice.
Headed to breakfast, be back in an hour or so.
Ti can you please ping the denizens of wftd to this SAVE THE DATE.... Monday in WFTD we are going to have a BRIDAL SHOWER for Neo. Yes, soother I said bridal shower. One week from tomorrow neo will be headed for connubial bliss and on Monday we will fete him.
So, students, find a thoughtful gift and come prepared on Monday— can be a .gif a .jpeg, a word of advice (we have many longtime marrieds among our ranks) a song, a dance... Whatever you deem appropriate or inappropriate, as the case may be. I will put aside some cookies to bring, as well.
Oh nice, so they can come back for a full day. Good for them!
My potted flowers on the desk look great from all the rain!
The mainstream has never been curious
That Mooch-elle lives the good life, luxurious
With no complications
While the unemployed sulk, lugubrious
Frankenstein vs Godzilla? It sounds like a Kerry impersonation of Lugubrious import!
(I’d be rooting for Godzilla.)
Snow and ice (or rain) force that closure?
Haven’t seen this word in years. One of my favorites because of how it sounds.
I first heard this word used in a play by Moliere called “The Misanthrope.” I wonder whether one must be a drama queen to speak in a lugubrious tone.
I didn’t see a photo of the cookies - did you find one?
What words do you think will get them slammed or possibly fined this year? Sissy, pansy, "you play like a girl"...
LOL...no, just being a subject of theWon will do. ;^)
I think I will make them. They sound good for a rainy day!

I’ll get the garden hose and we can have a SURPRISE bridal shower!
do i have to show up in drag?
No just wear a Michael Sam jersey
you mean like as a nightgown, in that hot way chicks do?
Are there enough Gays/Lessies to fill the stands of their stadium? Hope so, or they will lose money on this venture into Gaydom. I suspect the country is quickly reaching the saturation point for girlyness.
The ones I’m making are very diff, no chocolate. Just a powdered sugar glaze on a moist plain cookie.
Lugubrious weather makes one prone to the copious expulsion of loogies
And it’s a gorgeous sunny day here now, breezy but pretty. Just perfect.
A little seltzer down the pants
[ ***chuckles*** ]
I think you can just wear it like any of his other supporters.....and look girly enough
I don’t think he will ever play - he will be such a distraction in the media the other big name stars will be jealous and will let him know this is a big boy game
the macho players will probably slam him a bit harder just to prove their manhood.
It is sunny and 67 here-it was 47 this morning at 6...
If schadenfreude is bad
I’m as bad as that gets
Watching Obama’s minions
Bitten by their media pets
They all become lugubrious
Whenever they’re set down
They howl discrimination
And threaten to leave town
So let’s make them happy
That won’t be hard to do-
Get them fired and sent home
Make their dreams come true...
Still pouring here. I am dog sitting my neighbor’s dog Cooper, another shih tzu. The cat had gotten out before they left and was at the door soaking wet waiting for it to open. She was in like a flash. If it wasn’t raining, I would have brought him over.
Sounds like a plan. A+++
You coming as Michael Sam’s date or what? You’ll look precious in that.
Last night, Husky girl and I startled several deer that found a way around the fence at the back of the property and were browsing up here in the yard. They freaked at the dog barking and lunging at them, nearly dragging me off with her on the leash, and were running around so frantically that I took Husky girl up the back steps to the deck and we waited there until the deer remembered where they had gotten in, and headed back to the riverbank.
I’m going down there later to find that gap in the fence and see if I can patch it-I do not want my veggies and herbs to be deer chow-I can barter those herbs, I already spend money to buy deer food for them, and there is plenty of grass down by the river...
Good idea, I hope you can block their entry.
I was out running errands early the other morning when I had to stop on a two lane highway, just where it goes up to 55. At least 7 deer had started across the road, not all made it, but they kept going both ways in front of me and a car coming from the other direction. We sat there waiting for them to decide where they were headed and to all finally leave. They went back up the hill and away from traffic after several confused minutes. A delightful interlude for me.
