For most American women beyond the age of high school gym class, Ive got my period isnt considered much of an excuse for anything. Were meant to pop an Advil and get on with things, Red Devil be damned. But in several, mostly East Asian, countries, so-called menstrual leave is a legally enshrined right for female workers.
However, as these countries attempt to move toward greater gender equality in the workplace, menstrual leave has come under debate. Do these policies simply further the notion that women are weak, hormonally-addled creatures controlled by their uteri? Or do they encourage more equality by accommodating female workers biological demands, much as maternity leave does?
The issue turns out to be surprisingly complicated, with complex historical roots and supporters on both sides of the liberal-conservative divide.

Well, they probably don’t have tampons or maxi-pads so... maybe it’s a good thing they stay home.
Did she see a dr. for that? I knew someone with those difficulties who needed an ablation. I find the whole thing quite ‘last century’ myself. If you can’t deal, just get a Mirena, for cryong out loud!

She said the air force doctors simply wouldn’t believe her. They’d say, “My wife has never had a problem.” This was in the late ‘60’s through, I think ‘85? So, it was last century. Also, I think the air force doctors seldom dealt with women’s problems.
Hell no!
Q:What is the difference between a woman with PMS and a terrorist?
A:You can negotiate with the terrorist.
I know some ladies that get Cyclic Migraines when their period begins every month...
Some women have lot of additional issues with their periods...
I think it is Biblical! Absolutely! :-)
What army would want to go up against a horde of menstruating Amazons?
“Some women have lot of additional issues with their periods...”
Apparently this isn’t “new.” My mother talked about her mother, who ran a huge enterprise with lots of employees. This was in the early part of the twentieth century until the late ‘60’s. But once a month she simply stayed in bed throwing up for a couple of days until menopause.
You don’t need a Dr. you need more women...
Thankfully, I can work from home on certain days but I pretty much suffer the same as your sister. But there are days when I have to attend a meeting or travel for work & I just tough it out. Every woman is different & it’s no joke to go through what your sister did & I do on a monthly basis.
Btw, you must be a proud brother :) amazing resume your sister has.

Actually, she’s awesome. BTW, sometimes, sick as a dog, she’d get called to supervise a murder scene or a suicide. Talk about a heroic effort! She was the commander at her last several posts.
No, but if a woman should think so, fire her!
Then, hire a man with a family to support.

Because they’re unclean.
Sure it should. That wouldn't be at all discriminatory against men.
Maybe it should be mandatory for female supervisors to help reduce abuse in the workplace.
