Police were searching for leads Saturday in the shooting death of an aspiring rapper in a posh suite at a Las Vegas resort.
Police say Evan Plunkett, who performed under the name "Hollywood Will," was shot in the chest after a fight erupted between him and three other men during a party in the Palms Casino Resort's Fantasy Tower.
Others involved in the Thursday night fight fled the suite before police arrived, and no arrests have been made, investigators said. About 40 to 50 people attended the party.
A music video was being filmed in the suite when an argument broke out between Plunkett, 25, and the other men, according to friends.

I have real doubts that any rapper who attends late night parties that break out in violence isn’t at least a wannabe thug gangster
But he was JUST TURNING HIS LIFE AROUND and HAD PLANS TO EVENTUALLY MARRY THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILD
He’s not “aspiring” anymore, he will soon be on the TOP OF THE CHARTS.
There simply is NOTHING BETTER than being shot if you’re a rapper (other than being shot dead). That gives you the cred to really advance in that world.
Aren’t ALL young, unemployed black males who’ve been shot to death described as “aspiring rappers”? Well, not all I guess. There’s the shot-to-death bunch that are always described as “he was good boy, he just ran with the wrong crowd”.
BTW, how many income tax forms are filed with “aspiring rapper” listed as job descriptions? (Hint: This is a trick question. “Aspiring rappers” don’t file income taxes because “aspiring rapper is a euphemism for “unemployed”.)
Being in a goofy mood this evening, I’d have loved to see an Emily Litella bit on “aspiring wrappers”. You know: “WHO THE HELL WANTS TO BE A WRAPPER? Wrappers are something that get thrown away! Why would anyone want to be garbage on purpose? We already have enough garbage. We have so much garbage already that we can’t get rid of it all! It just keeps piling up. Piling and piling and piling. And we have to load it on boats to dump in the ocean. And bury it in ravines. And burn it in incinerators. ...
MONKEY BLACK?! ARE YOU FN KIDDING ME!!!?
I can’t stop laughing! My God that’s a supervillian!
I conclude that rap music is hazardous to your health.
I know it’s nerve-racking to anyone who likes music.
Mere coincidence that his best friend was killed in a drive-by, was it? Back in my youth, many an aspiring young thug was given a choice of prison or the Marines. Looks like the Marines weren't able to turn this guy around. Not a surprise, given the changes to training this century.
Thanks - there’s a lot of folks here who have taken to knee-jerk crapola w/o having the benefit of any more information than a few “key” sentences. I read the story and it also says that when the fight broke out, he was trying to stop it.
You are known by the company you keep.
Then Jesus was scum...
Pretty sure Jesus wasn’t partying with fellow aspiring rappers in Vegas.
If you want to carry it to that extreme that is between you and God on the judgement day.
Even getting killed won't automatically make you an idol.
What next?
The 27 club will become passe for legend status too?
Nobody saw nothin'. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Thanks for your service, Marine. RIP.
He was very foolish to be involved in the worthless culture of rap music and be part of a video shoot. But he was not a thug and did not deserve to die. I will not mock his death.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The family of a shooting victim said they want justice in the death of Evan Plunkett. Evan Plunkett was shot and killed Thursday at the Palms Casino Resort.
“It’s just dawning on me that I’m never going to see my brother’s face again,” said Mickey Plunkett, the youngest brother of Evan Plunkett. “He was a great person. He was one in a million, and he cannot be replaced.”
Police say up to 50 people were inside a suite formerly named after the Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner. A hip-hop producer named Juss Swoop posted several videos from inside the suite where they were filming a music video. Just after 9 p.m. a fight broke out. Police say Evan Plunkett and three other men were involved. Mickey Plunkett said his other brother, TJ, was there to help defend Evan Plunkett.
“He was just trying to save my brother’s life,” Mickey Plunkett said. “If I could’ve been there, I would’ve done the same.”
Investigators say Evan Plunkett, 25, was shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital. Mickey Plunkett said Evan Plunkett’s surgery was unsuccessful, and he succumbed to his injuries.
“We are very close. We’ve always been close. We’ve always lived together. Our family just got a lot smaller,” Mickey Plunkett said.
Seven years ago, the Plunkett family lost their father in a car accident. It happened while Evan Plunkett was serving in the military.
“My father instilled into us a lot of rules, and his no. 1 rule was fight for each other, not against each other,” Mickey Plunkett said. “You know, every man has to have a code, and my and my two brothers’ code is family.”
Evan Plunkett was a father to a young daughter and an aspiring rapper.
Police have not yet made any arrests in the shooting. Police urged anyone with information on the cast to contact Metro’s Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
