Inside the 9/11 museum’s offensive gift shop

By Susan Edelman

The museum at Ground Zero tells the dark story of the 9/11 terror attacks with spectacular artifacts and exhibits. It pays heart-wrenching tribute to the innocents and heroes killed that day. It also has a gift shop. The 9/11 museum’s cavernous boutique offers a vast array of souvenir goods. For example: FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority Police T-shirts ($22) and caps ($19.95); earrings molded from leaves and blossoms of downtown trees ($20 to $68); cop and firefighter charms by Pandora and other jewelers ($65); “United We Stand” blankets.

Exactly, bottom line is it’s a graveyard. All the graveyards I ever visited don’t charge $24 bucks and have a gift shop.

It only took 13 years to build. That must be some sort of record.

LOL! And just think- The original WTC, both towers, took only 6 years. But it takes them 13 to throw pictures on a wall and make a gift shop.

This is money made off the BODIES OF THE DEAD VICTIMS
while IGNORING THE TERRORISTS WHO DID IT.

There is one word for it ......... DISGUSTING.

That is like the Tomb of the Unknowns selling blank dogtags.

My parents visited Auschwitz and all I got was this lousy Tee-shirt…

Yea, see that doesn’t work.

There should not even be a “Museum”. The artifacts should be an extended part of the memorial.

But then there shouldn’t be a fee to visit, the memorial shouldn’t be a giant black hole in the ground, and the replacement building shouldn’t be the worlds tallest Minaret, but we all have opinions.

Turning a memorial into a tourist trap complete with gift shop is pretty offensive. But we’re a tacky country.

Gotta find some way to pay back the hundreds of thousands we paid each family estate after 911 from the taxpayers. Why did they get paid? I didn’t bomb them?

LOL! Wow you think like me. I grew up in NYC and moved a few years ago because I couldn't take the liberals anymore. I think either purposely or subconsciously they are doing everything they can to disparage the victims of 911 while propping up the terrorists. When they first announced this "Freedom tower" I said it's going to be nothing but a giant trophy to Al-Qaeda, and that's exactly what it is.

Then this crap where they make the building locations look like two toilet bowls flushing, or some kind of sump where water is going down the drain. Why not fountains spraying up in the air??...

Man, just thinking about this again is really getting me ticked off, I absolutely cannot stand the liberals in that city, they are just among the worst in the country. I just KNOW they did this stuff on purpose, just to give their own kind of middle finger to the country, and now this stuff with the gift shop and huge entrance fees. But that's how liberals work in that city.

It’s at the bottom of the ocean, it will probably never be found. If the bad guys want a plane to use for some future date thing all they need to do it buy one, they aren’t that hard to get.

I agree with you. And that mother is probably onto something regarding the salaries. Like to see a breakdown on that.

Capitalism is, indeed, a good thing, but this sounds tacky and crass.

I was in NYC two years ago. There were moslems everywhere! The only place there were NO MOSLEMS was the World Trade Center memorial.

Hi guy.

I was in NYC two years ago. There were moslems everywhere! The only place there were NO MOSLEMS was the World Trade Center memorial.

Even though that observation maybe anecdotal, it is probably true for all muslims.
