A surfer remains in jail after allegedly hitting an elderly Hawaiian woman with her car in a fit of road rage.

Jill Hansen is charged with attempted murder for allegedly hitting Elizabeth Conklin with her car Wednesday. She's being held on $1 million bail.

Conklin, 73, told ABC News she doesn’t remember the incident.

“I parked in my normal parking place, and I got out and all of a sudden I woke up in an ambulance,” Conklin said from her Honolulu hospital room, where she sported two black eyes.

According to police, Hansen, 30, waited until Conklin was out of her car before hitting her.

Conklin said a bystander in the parking garage saw the incident and bashed in Hansen’s rear window when she appeared to prepare to hit Conklin again.

“He saw her in her car getting ready to hit me again. He totally saved my life,” said Conklin.

The lady I mentioned seems young - 20s - for AA, but one never knows. She has two little children who were in swimming lessons at the same time as some of my boys, which is why I noticed her. Her mother and grandmother would also be at the pool, what with water aerobics going on.

I’m not a fuss about tattoos - my oldest daughter, the outrageous Gunner Anoreth, USCG, has three on her arms. However, having text on the chest almost forces people to stare at your chest. Why bother putting on eye makeup?

I’m wondering what kinds of idiots would PAY someone to surf.

The same sort who pay people to fish ... that is, manufacturers of products that will be bought by people who like to watch surfing. This includes products immediately associated with the sport, such as surfboards and swimsuits, but also other clothing, beer, food, certain types of vehicles, etc.

Even businesses unassociated with surfing or a "beach lifestyle" could choose to advertise through surfing, if they're near the beach. It's an obvious choice for real estate agencies in the relevant area, for example.

My husband and I notice the weather when we watch reruns. Sometimes there will be an indoor scene, and we can see that it’s rainy and very windy outside ... and then the characters walk outdoors into bright sun!

Son Jeff (father of the twins) worked on sets on Vampire Diaries and now works on sets for Satisfaction. He says on that one they are building a mansion INSIDE a warehouse for the show. And he said that with all the huge lights, they can make it seem like it’s day when it’s not.

It’s a huge industry and marketing machine. Where have you been? That said, this skank just dropped in for her last ride on the aforementioned.

My 17 my year old daughter is bound and determined to get a tattoo in 6 weeks when she turns 18. She is a beautiful girl, and I was distraught about it but she is in her rebellion phase. Other than locking her up for a few years I have run out of options... :)

Several months ago, I read a post by another Freeper that I thought summed it up nicely: A tattoo is a permanent expression of a temporary feeling.

Glad she survived. Prayers for her recovery, and for that surfer’s rehabilitation from whatever demons she’s dealing with.

My daughter, the Coast Guardian, got her first one when she was 19 and her ship was in port in Hawaii. Nothing we could do about it, although I had expressed negativity.

Our other children have been told there will be no tattoos or weird piercings while we are supporting them. We have to hope nobody turns 18 and does it anyway, because I don’t know if we’d have the fortitude to say, “Fine, you’re an adult. Two weeks notice to move out, write when you find work.”

I guess it depends on how annoyed we were with the particular child to start with ;-). If Number One Son, who is 20, show up with a tattoo or gauges (?) in his ears, I’ll have no problem putting him on the curb with his guitars, his hair products, and a sign that says “Will Do Nothing For Food.”

I haven’t had the nerve to ask whether it’s a reference to the tv program

I didn't get the tat, but I stuck a "Blue Sun" decal on my Jeep.
