Last night on a new episode of "Dual Survival" on Discovery viewers were shocked to hear that one person is not returning next season to the show. On Tuesday, IB Times shared some information that reveals who is leaving the show and how it all went down. Cody Lundin will not be back next season. Joe will be back on the show again.

You can see Cody during the rest of season four of the show, but he will not be back for the fifth season.

The barefoot hippie dude is leaving. Good, maybe I’ll watch again.

"It is true that I was scheduled to shoot all episodes for season four, but as I was fired due to differences over safety and health concerns, I filmed only four shows."

I’m exactly the opposite. He’s the one who makes the show interesting. Without his barefoot hippy schtick it’s just another survivor show. I’ll probably quit watching. Teti is annoying as hell.

The episode a year or two ago where they were lost in the mountains of Kentucky or Tennessee in what looked like the Cumberland river area I had to laugh. They found an old still with a plastic tarp. To operate a still you have to have a accessible {but out of the way} area to move the supplies in and out. IOW they were within probably an eighth of a mile from an old logging or mining road out had they simply looked. Instead they went back down the mountain and got in a make shift tarp/duct tape canoe.

Seriously the top of the ridge especially at night will sow you a way out like a distant house light, road with headlights, etc.

As for actual knowledge? Cody seems to have the most overall knowledge and skill for all conditions. However the barefoot stuff is an unnecessary risk. You do not expose yourself to unnecessary risk like that conditioning or no.

It's all staged and the people in all these type shows have a support team. IOW while Jim is wrestling the Python I'll be back at camp having a steak LOL.

“Survivorman” is probably the most sensible and least staged. Bear Grylls’ show got ridiculous; it seemed to be mostly a venue for him to eat outrageous stuff (and sometimes get sick from doing it) and take other unnecessary risks.

I will not miss Cody. Neither will Joe T.

I think Joe’s predecessor, Dave C, couldn’t stand Cody.

Good riddance to Cody. Other than his ability to make fire he was an earth worshiping hippie who didn’t do anything but complain. The other guys did all the work while he made a big deal about his bare feet.

I’m so out of it I’m still wondering what happened to Dave. I know I could google it but I’m too stubborn. Afterall, what is life without a little mystery? We haven’t watched since Dave left.

Totally agree Bear and Joe Teti both will get someone hurt on some of the stunts I've seen them pull .

What the show should do, in bring back Dave C now, as well.

Just saying.

That would be a great show.

I totally agree. Cody is an oddball but he is an interesting guy.

Contrary to what a couple of people have posted, Cody seems to make the soundest decisions. While Joe is off doing one of his "recons" and trying to secure some protein, Cody is usually setting up the camp - starting a fire, arranging a shelter, and purifying water. While those might not be adventurous activities, they are far higher up the survival hierarchy than what Joe is doing. Despite the "Odd Couple" mentality and their bickering, they actually complement one another quite well.

The shorts and bare feet are bizarre behaviors. I don't understand why he does that but it is clear that overall Cody knows what he is doing.

I took my nephew and his friend backpacking last summer. They must have crammed 80lbs in to their backpacks. All of it stuff they saw on the Survivorman show. 10 firestarters, a dozen knives, and a bunch of other useless stupid and dangerous stuff. I let them keep some of the useless stuff so they could learn. All this survival stuff and nothing practical. It was especially fun ordering them to make the morning fire. All that fire starting stuff and no simple lighter.

I've never smoked in my life but I carry a bic lighter every day. Fire good.

Last time we went camping my boy asked if he should bring his paracord survival bracelet he made. Yeah, you probably should...
