Aunt passed away, left a large stamp collection. Must be appraised to move forward with the estate. Any help is greatly appreciated. Looking for any Freeper who may know of an appraiser of stamp collections in the Boston, MA area.

Thanks

Add up the face value...that’s about it anymore with some rare exceptions.

Google stamp collection appraisal. All kinds of good results and advice.

"The Northern Philatelic Society offers a free stamp collection appraisal service if you want to know what your stamp collection is worth." (from google results)

you can find books and magazines on the subject. I’d start there, then find a coin and collectibles dealer for a more accurate number.

Unless you are prepared to sell the stamps individually, you will never get anywhere near the appraised value.

Perhaps you should check with Monica Lewinski, a noted philatelist... or something like that.
