Batter up! Obama pops in on Little League game
WASHINGTON (AP) — Put down the juice box and lace up your sneakers. President Barack Obama is pinch-hitting for Little League.
The president paid a surprise visit Monday to Washington's Friendship Park, where a handful of teams were warming up for the big game. Stepping onto the field in a tie but no jacket, Obama shook hands with the players and posed for photos with each team.
"What's going on people? How's it going?" the president said, before sidling up to a young girl whose arm was in a sling. "Hey, what happened? Were you sliding?"
Shocked parents reached for their smartphones to snap a quick photo, but not all of their kids were as impressed. Some held back, unsure of who Obama was, as their parents tried to lure them back onto the infield to join the president.
"Daddy, let's just play," said one young boy, pulling his father by the hand.
The "pitcher in chief" even got a chance to try out his arm, tossing the ball from near the pitcher's mound to 10-year-old Danny Ringel, who plays for the Tigers.
The White House notes the visit comes before Obama is scheduled to travel to Cooperstown, N.Y., on Thursday to speak at the Baseball Hall of Fame. That visit is focused on boosting U.S. exports, including tourism.

Exactly, that’s also why he had no clue to put his hand over his heart when saying the Pledge of Allegiance. I’m his age exactly and we grew up saying the Pledge in school everyday. I’m willing to bet money he has no idea what the stripes on the flag stand for.

He said “Intercontinental Railroad” again yesterday at the NYC fundraiser! That’s twice he’s said that. Anybody growing up in the US knows the east-west railroad completed in 1869 was the TRANScontinental railroad. Of course, Obumbler probably thinks the RR connected North America to South America.
Here is systemic problem. Unlike most boys, he did not grow up playing little league baseball. Or perhaps soccer, hockey, or basketball. As a child, he did not go to 4th of July parades and picnics and celebrate America in the evening during a fireworks show. He did not say the Pledge of Allegiance and learn as a youth why America was so special in the world. He did not have a hot dog with his dad at a Yankees or Dodgers game or scream and do high fives with his dad in front of the TV watching a Superbowl. Instead of growing up loving America and being proud of what his parents and grandparents had passed on, he grew up as a Muslim in a Muslim country and had disdain for America. He shows it every day.
'Daddy, let's play' said by a kid, who must be smarter than the president. If Obama came to my local little league field, he would be ignored, like he should be.
We should have less worry about what he throws across home plate than the socialism he shoves down our throats.
