The little I know of Jim Webb is that he is centerist Liberal, and can give a good speech, piling on the propaganda and rhetoric.I get the impression that he has a rather bad temper, or becomes exasperated easily. He was an officer in the military, I believe. Oh, and he wrote numerous lurid, erotic novels, some describing Viet Cong women in terms that would get me banned here. So by today’s standards, this Jim Webb has a ‘varied and diverse’ skill set.

I was a Virginia resident during the time he ran for the senate. I voted against him. Since then, I read most of his books. I did not find any of the porn to which many speak of now or during the campaign. My impression of him is that he is an excellent writer and researcher. As SecNav under Reagan, got p.o.’d when Congress tried to downsize the Navy, so he quit the job. Some of his writings get into the seamier parts of politics. I think he quit the Senate after his first term as a statement against professional politicians. I’ve been hoping for a follow up book blowing the whistle on all the shenanigans and criminal activities by the Dems in DC. Maybe the 6 year term was a research project. Highly anticipating his next book which is his own memoirs..
