I remember an episode where an agitated King Cobra tried to strike him over and over again. I never saw a snake that was more agitated or aggressive.

Florida has some nasty creatures. If we retire there, our gardening strategy will be quite different than it is here.

The proper spelling is MOJAVE GREEN; nasty buggers are named after the Mojave desert where they live, specifically the northern Mojave Desert. Lots of them around the town of Mojave and all the foot hills and canyons along highway 395 west to I-5 around Fort Tejon.
If even something as big as a human gets hit by one there is not a whole lot of hope unless you can get to help pretty quick. The venom is a combination of neurotoxic and hemotoxic that leans real heavy on the neurotoxic side.
Suppresses heart beat, respiratory function and muscle control.

The were timber rattlers, not eastern diamondbacks, and they were in a pit beneath him.
