The zombie apocalypse is nigh! The zombie apocalypse is nigh!
Well, no it isnt. In fact, its probably as likely to occur as the rest of Paul Ehrlichs predictions.
Ehrlich, a Stanford University biologist famous for his widely debunked book The Population Bomb, doubled down on his climate change and overpopulation fear-mongering with HuffPost Live on May 21. Ehrlich warned host Josh Zepps that the dangers of overpopulation are growing, blaming Republicans and the media for failing to take action. While hawking a new book called Hope On Earth, Ehrlichs co-author Michael Tobias praised Ehrlichs older, outrageously wrong predictions and said they underestimated the problem.
Ehrlich, after falsely predicting human oblivion 46 years ago, told Zepps humans must soon begin contemplating eat[ing] the bodies of your dead after resources are depleted (fava beans and a nice Chianti optional, apparently).

I would have gone with 'it's to die for!'
Fine, eat people...
If you like the idea of CreutzfeldtJakob disease or Kuru, etc.
“What kind of wine goes best with Soylent Green...?”
A nice Chilean Merlot.
The trouble is, there are so many more destructive frauds, like joke-anthropologist Margaret Mead, Alfred Kinsey, Noam Chomsky, John Dewey, etc., that it’s hard to pick the most pernicious. All have done their part to destroy civilization for stupid reasons.
Isn't that from eating brains?
Generally not if properly cooked.
wasn’t this guy pushing global cooling in the 70’s ?
Jeffrey Dahmer said the underside of a human arm lightly fried in peanut oil was best.
Paging Donner party of 8...
Paging Donner party of 7...
Paging Donner party of 6... your table is ready.
He’s a little obsessed with the whole mass cannibalism thing, somebody should probably check his basement.
Brains primarily, yes, but there are several related diseases that are likely results of long term ‘regular’ cannibalism, even if you only eat the muscle tissue.
I think I’ll pass. :)
Would you please pass the fava beans?
And could I have another glass of that nice Chianti?
“Instead, he called for backup abortions for any woman whos birth control failed, in an attempt to control breeding, as he put it.”
When the word “breeding” is used in that context (i.e., treating people as non-humans), that tells me that this guy would have NO PROBLEM with Nazi-style death camps...instead, to him, the biggest challenge is figuring out how to obtain the necessary power to get to work.
Very few genocidal killers act like Thomas Jefferson until they wake up one day and decide they’re instead Hitler. They always leave clues before getting power, usually pretty obviously ones, sometimes not as obvious. It is up to us to pick up on them.
Is his book in the fiction section?
“Dr. Ehrlich, there are some people one simply will not eat.”
Ehrlich is like so many of that time: they never grew up and no one could ever teach them any new tricks; you know, if you’re a circus cat and all you can do is chase your tail, then why tail-chasing is what you do for every performance.
