They try to confiscate my land, and they will cease to be.

“We have no intentions of ever being a democracy we will be a a Republic.”

You have a strict religious requirement, as specific as picking and choosing ‘correct’ church doctrine or one particular religion, in order to participate. That’s a theocracy by committee.

From one pro-Maine secession site:

The vote for Maine to secede is going to be on June 12, 2018. 100,000 signatures will be needed to get the secession vote on the ballot, for whether the next governor of Maine is Paul LePage, self declared homosexual John Baldacci, or Cutler, a challenge is expected at every turn. Once on the ballot, 12,000 armed and determined members of Maine State Militia will provide secure at the polls to ensure the integrity of the polling places by checking the ID of everyone coming to vote before allowing them in to vote. Those who will not produce ID will be prohibited from entering to vote, their photos are to be taken and sent to a central clearing house. The day of the vote instructions will be given on how to handle absentee ballots.

Hmm, a private pro-secession army will control access to the polls by the public when the very ballot proposal at issue is the secession movement they support.

That sounds great, doesn't it?

Their oath contains a specific reference to the King James Bible too.

What about Seventh Day Adventists and others who consider Saturday to be this Sabbath?

Do Roman Catholic churches have the same freedom

Hmm, let's see.

Our oath; "I pledge my allegiance first to the God of the Bible, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, the one true, and living Triune God. Then to my family and then to Maine. I will not knowingly violate the word of God as articulated in this, my King James Version of the Holy Bible, nor any part of the Constitution of the State of Maine that does not violate God's word."

Looks like the Douay-Rheims Version and the New American Version need not apply.

Hmmm. If I use the NKJV or the NIV, am I unable to take the oath?

You should ask the militiamen blocking the door at your local polling place.

If you don't like it stay were you are, you might notice that the heading is: The Maine Secession Movement is now actively inviting Born Again Christians to move to Maine from other states.

If you are not a Born Again why would you even care? You probably would be happier in the Sudan, or perhaps Israel, or maybe China, India, France or the USA.

I think we know this is going nowhere. In all seriousness, I believe in benevolent autocracy too, with the Lord Jesus Christ as the autocrat. It’s called the Kingdom of God, or the millennium. I’ll be ready when He is. Until then, we need to keep sharing the good news about the Kingdom, and thank God for the freedom we still have.

Understanding the proposed republic requires a thorough knowledge of Christianity, since The Republic of Maine's proposed founding document clearly indicates that Christ's teachings will form the basis of its social values. Those who are not deeply familiar with those teachings are not fully qualified to criticize. It would be more stimulating to one's learning process -- if for no other reason, to better understand the Founding of the 1776 USA -- to ask questions and receive answers than to reject out of hand.

Post 49 refuted your mistaken assumption that religion will be enforced by a militia; therefore all your complaints in your prior post to me are invalid.

Let us discuss your notion of freedom. Political freedom does not mean that the individual gets to reinvent the absolutes we are born into, such as gravity, physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, and other cosmic forces. These powerful forces were grouped by the U.S. Founders under the name "Natural Law," in recognition that all organic life has transcendent natural attributes and limitations. Unlimited freedom from the moral absolutes arising from Natural absolutes is not humanly possible in the long term. All humans can do, as we are doing presently in the U.S. with fictions such as gay marriage and multicultural equality, is invent legal fictions to suspend the consequences of moral transgressions indefinitely; but the scales will be balanced by the Creator eventually.

The Republic of Maine proposal is for volunteers for freedom in Christ, not freedom from Christ. Those educated in Christianty understand that volunteers in such a project are committed to refounding a Christian nation, as the U.S. was once a Christian nation for its first several centuries, during which it flowered and its people prospered -- unlike now.

That is not to say that this project can and will succeed automatically. There will be great struggles ahead, inevitably, for all mankind now that all nations are globally interconnected 24/7. But I do appreciate the mental exercise of attempting to envisioneer such a project.

We have not finished the land use section, but I can assure you no level of govt is going to confiscate your land.

"What I am saying is that age cannot be determined with a precision of one day if it is based upon conception. The best that can be done is about one week. "

One week is fine, no one is going to get upset over one week.

Is that the best you can do to explain and defend your questionable project?"Is that the best you can do to explain and defend your questionable project?"

This is not a debate forum, it is an invitation for Born Again Christians to move to Maine. As for my casting aspersions on someone's supposed place of origin I have done no such thing. If you read such a thing into it, you are a fool or a trouble maker or have simply made a mistake.
