The Almost Exclusively White Phenomenon of Conservatism
The American Thinker ^ | May 23, 2014 | John Bennett

Posted on 05/24/2014 8:28:43 PM PDT by River Hawk

Every conservative should consider the profound and possibly awful observation made by the New York Times’ Josh Barro (italics added):

The rush to stand with Mr. Bundy against the Bureau of Land Management is the latest incarnation of conservative antigovernment messaging. And nonwhites are not interested, because a gut-level aversion to the government is almost exclusively a white phenomenon.

If there were validity to Barro’s observation, then any anti-government political philosophy (that wished to survive) would seek to reduce immigration.

After all, America is rapidly importing economically poor, poorly educated, low-skilled immigrants. Those immigrants generate racial inequalities, and inequality is then used to shame and guilt the majority. This is the neurotic cycle I call “America’s never-ending shame.” A constant influx of the “disadvantaged” guarantees a racialized political system and the growth of a Leviathan welfare state.

There was a reason the Founders did not allow those without property to decide the fate of the possessions of the propertied.

And it wasn't done with federal laws. It was accomplished with a senate of the states that kept a lid on the leveling impulse of all societies.

At the time this country was founded and for about 150 years after, this country was populated and run by people who were mostly conservative in their thoughts and actions no mattter their political affiliation. Virtually no Americans thought the country owed them a living.

Then along came FDR and the welfare state. But even at that time very few to zero Americans sponged off the American tax-payer. It's only been in the last fifty years or so that we have whole classes of people who think it's just fine and dandy to live off what others produce.

Id rather see a mutually agreed upon split than a civil war. After five years of half their country populated by leeches, the libs would surrender. A lib country would be populated by a lot of tech workers, gov. workers, but few farmers and builders. It would have many millions of welfare leeches.

I saw some brown skinned people rushing to stand with Mr. Bundy. Just Saying.

Big, authoritarian government gets around to crushing everyone. It’s just a matter of time and political priorities.

That's a great quote, but I think one more line should be emphasized:

Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

I've seen liberal screeds wondering "What do the Tea Partiers mean by 'Take back America!'?" The topic of this article is a central issue. Not the only one, but a central one.

Can it be accomplished peacefully? I'm beginning to doubt it. America as the Founders envisioned her is facing an existential threat.

Statistically, it mostly is. And mass immigration is going to tip the scales and make conservatives a definite minority unable to win national elections.
