So this is Memorial Day in 2014, when we are supposed to remember and honor those who died serving this country and end up mourning the latest to die at the hands of a madman with guns in America, this time in Isla Vista, Calif., near the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara. Once again, the only true gun control in America is when the shooter finally puts one of his guns to his own head and blows his own brains out. Wayne LaPierre, the gun nut who runs the National Rifle Association and is so often the face and voice of that association, likes to say that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, as if the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the late Dawn Hochsprung, could have saved herself and those children if she’d just been packing.

It is too easy to find a place where you would have a gun, and no one else does. Aside from mental illness, that is the one thing that most mass shootings have in common.
Oh no….next we’ll have to hear another lecture by Bob Costas on guns. Thank goodness he doesn’t cover basketball games.
we should talk about why we don’t lock up the mentally ill the way we used to. But no, we have to be liberal, and liberals don’t want to address that aspect of things. What these mass killers have in common is mental illness, but, the liberals refuse tp talk about that. They only talk about weapons used.

The logic plays out clearly...
-Guns are dangerous so people shouldn’t have them.
Make laws to restrict gun ownership.
-People continue to get and use guns.
Make more laws to outlaw guns.
-People continue to get and use guns.
Make thinking about guns, biting pop tarts into the shape of guns, seeing cloud formations that look like guns, illegal.
Eventually good people get and use guns to stop the madness.
What about those of us not sick that would defend against such warped minds, no chance for us.

I guess leftist bozos really need no excuses to drumbeat for more gun control but maybe this time they are particularly peeved because it is the child of a Hollywood figure? Maybe because it didn’t happen in the inner city of Chicago or the armpits of Washington DC that liberals notice gun violence? This one hit too close to home because it’s a place full of liberals committed by a liberal?

Exactly, we don’t have a gun problem in this country. We have a mental illness problem. Every single one of the shootings was done by people with mental issues and what liberals fail to realize that if these nuts didn’t use guns they would use other methods, the worst being fire. Would liberals prefer these nuts burn people alive? That happened a few years ago here in New York city, this nut made himself a homemade flamethrower and burned a woman alive in an elevator.

What needs to happen is we need to reevaluate how people with mental issues are dealt with in this country. After every shooting, killing, NOBODY talks about that. Once again 100% of the focus is given to the NRA as if the mentally ill are all going to behave themselves if the NRA goes away.
Availability of guns may be a very small part of this story, but lets be serious for once on this issue.
Ask any actor or director what they enjoy most about their profession and they will most likely tell you they enjoy the opportunity to affect people and change society through their art....or something like that. In any case, if they believe that than it simply follows that violent movies, song lyrics, and video games also affect people. In fact, a much stronger and more compeeling case can be made that our entertaininment industry motivates mass killings much more than the NRA.
