Short summary:
Is Obama spending too much on the military, expanding the DOD and related departments to an unprecedented extent, doing everything he can to benefit big military contractors like Northrop, Lockheed, Boeing and Raytheon?

Answer:
No.

God won’t save us

Who says?

America has been in great peril in times past. Divine Providence has always been with her despite the naysayers. God's purpose for America may have yet be fulfilled.

Guided by Divine Providence? Doesn't anyone over at Salon own a dictionary?

With america as the movie capital, porn capital, music capital, and mammon business capital (just a few off the top of the head) of the secular humanism world - a modern day global influential Sodom, Gomorrah, Egypt and Babylon with even the global headquarters of the United Nations within its borders to boot...
all in one, you are right.. His purpose for the nation is not finished...

It seems the purpose of this nation is to give more people in the world more ‘freedom and liberty’ so they too can become secular humanists and get draw away from the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- and the freedom and liberty He provides..

that mission is right on schedule.gay marriage is just one of those markers people can see today....

and certainly our Creator would not have that as a purpose for a nation who fears Him and obeys Him..

Problem really is that americans think we are on God’s side..

It doesnt end well for any sodoms, gomorrahs, egypt’s or babylons..all 4 combined?

Sackcloth and ashes.. that is america’s future..

Show me a country América hasn’t helped and or Improved by our Christian ideals and precisely because God moves us to help.

Then consider the world has been vastly Improved by our inventiveness.

Ice Cubes = Cold Beer and Ice Cold Pepsi.

Coca-Cola too.

Levis

American Pie. Not just the movie but, the kind that has cinnamon in the crust.

Ketchup for french fries.

McDonald’s

Cowboy movies.

God’s judgement and condemnation 2000 years ago on his beloved Son for the sins of the whole world including America’s ushered in the New Covenant and put God on our side.

GOD’S WAYS are FAR ABOVE our Understanding

God does chastise those he loves.

that being said there’s a distinct possibility that Obama is a part of a chastening process.

The thrust of the article has nothing to do with God. It is a description of events leading to what the author characterizes as silent coup by bureaucracy, at least with respect to intelligence matters and matters of the War On Terror.

The reason Gates was chosen by 0bama for SecDef was not any subtle agreement that 0bama and his staff would concentrate on domestic matters and leave the international ones to the apparatchiks, but that his team had literally no one up to the job. We are only now becoming aware of just how very shallow and incompetent this team of ideological wonks turned out to be in terms of management of government, but it was written in stone from the very beginning for anyone to see.

This team's core skills are the acquisition of power and the manipulation of information necessary to maintain it. It is at that point that what the author terms The Program becomes integrated with the domestic aspirations of the 0bama team. Surveillance on every American? Private military forces for sundry departments of the federal government? Those may or may not be useful in any War on Terror but they certainly are jolly useful for war on domestic political opposition.

I disagree with the author's thesis insofar as any absolution of the 0bama administration through sheer incompetence. On the contrary, they're very much in charge of the "drone murders", et al. The notion of 0bama allowing the apparatchiks their head if only they will allow him similar latitude within the country ignores the fact that it's all one large machine now despite the window dressing.

Clearly this intelligence machine is something the author hoped would be reformed by 0bama despite the complete absence of any background, skills, or accomplishments in that arena by any of "the ones we've been waiting for." That tells you more about the author's credulity than anything else. It wasn't, in fact, but neither are its apparatchiks running loose with the ball. So far as it is useful to the Democrats, it will remain.

The article is a tangle of pseudointellectual babble that makes no sense. The left can do nothing more than conjure up some imaginary coup as explanation for a foreign and military policy gone terribly wrong. To do anything else would require pointing fingers at the man at the helm, Obama. Since none of this can possibly be Mr. Obama’s fault, it must be the work of a secret crew of Bush holdovers. Unfortunately for the argument, no such holdovers exist. The left is firmly in control of the State Department, CIA, and the civilian upper echelon of the Pentagon. The generals are following the military principle of deference to civilian control of the military.

Their is no silent coup, just an idiot in the White House pulling the strings of power with no concept of what he is doing.

Repent and believe and If you love Me, obey My commandments are not the national mottos...

And the in god we trust motto we have is interesting considering the occultic layouts in capitol city of D.C.
Some god is ‘blessing’ america.. and the evidence points to the god of this world..

This isn’t a messiah led nation...

55 million unborn children snuffed out at the altar of america’s freedom and liberty in just the last 40 years, without repentance, is not a track America, if messiah led, would stay on...

That track ends just like Psalm 9:17 says.
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Yes, and thank God Jesus has already done tha for all of us. God's mercy and grace is available to "whosoever will believes in him" regardless of their works (Rom 3:28). Many in America believe in Him and look to Him for help. Your gospel of condemnation is not the gospel of the grace of Christ and stands doubly accursed (Gal 1:6:-9).

I speak Russian and ever since the Ukrainian thing began a few months ago I have been keeping an eye on federal jobs posted that require knowledge of the Russian language as a sort of indirect way to monitor the Obama Administration's response.

I believe that every federal job is supposed to be posted here, although I think that oftentimes jobs are not. So, admittedly, maybe I'm missing a few.

I have seen only a few jobs requiring knowledge of Russian posted - most for things like bi-lingual phone reps for the Social Security Administration or National Park tour guides and things like that. Only a couple in any way related to national security.

Check it out: today, there were ZERO jobs posted that required Russian language skills. I urge all to go to www.usajobs.gov and see for themselves.

Nada. Zippo. Nyet!

I'm really shocked. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I mean after Putin annexed the Crimea and started threatening to take more Ukrainian territory I was expecting some sort of sign that things were gearing up for some kind of credible confrontation. But no.

This is hardly the portrait of an administration deeply engaged in countering Russian aggression. I'm sure that the Russians must know this. The Obama Administration clearly isn't interested in confronting Russia in any meaningful way.

Very interesting observation. As you note, this is not the sort of thing that would escape the notice of the Russians.

Indeed. Putin can only be emboldened by this. I can’t help but think that I’m missing something. There must be a larger deal that somebody cut someplace. Else, how could this be happening?
