Obama’s solution for everything is giving away money, yet he has never fixed anything.

FUBO

And good morning, NSA.

Recall that Bath House said a few years back that filling up tires with air would save more oil than drilling for new oil. This chump needs to attend his own science class.

I’m sure most of the “science” will be about how guys in dresses are women, and that the world will overheat and melt in 6 months if we don’t pay lots of money to Washington.

Why bother, his hitech CEO’s are getting more H1B workers overseas and high school grads can soon earn over 10$ per hour at Macd’s.

Yes, pursue a career in science in a country that has decimated the American space program, punishes successful innovative companies (unless they donate a lot to dollars to the left), and has made the NIH more political than it ever was.

Taking biomedical science as an example, I don't know how you motivate people to spend four years in college (having to do well enough to land a spot in a good graduate school program), another 3-6 years getting a Ph.D. working in someone’s lab (with lots of nights and weekends if you want to be successful), then do at least 1 post-doctoral period in another lab (2-4 years), before your first real job. Then, get paid substantially less than you could make at a number of jobs that don't require that kind of education and training, and be required to pay at least part of your salary and for your research from government or foundation grants - with generally less than 10% of submitted grants getting funded these days.

That scenario is very real. Further, there aren't a lot of industry jobs for these people anymore, as pharmaceutical companies have cut back substantially on in-house research, and the biotech start ups generally don't have deep pockets - so have limited hiring opportunities.

Part of this is because there is a general feeling that any industry connected to medical innovation is going to have a rougher time in the future.

Obama’s math 1 + 44 = 17 trillion. Shelia Jackson Lee will discuss how we landed in 1968 on Mars for science.

As I told my 9 yr old daughter after a 45 minute car ride in which we discussed the scientific method and isolation of variables - you now know more about science than most or our political “leaders” demonstrate a knowledge of.
