A truer story of socialism has never been told. Conservatives are accused of being “insensitive.” We are realists. We know damn well that human nature is to be lazy; path of least resistance. Some people are content living on the streets and being “victims.” They’ve made an industry of it.

Meanwhile, the government makes it harder for honest, hardworking people to keep their money while piddling it away on the homeless and indigent.

It's a much more complicated story than anyone would have expected.

Only to the libs.

A few times, McConlogue encouraged Grand to go to the bank and see what they could do to help him set up an account. They never made it more than a few blocks before Grand insisted on turning around.

It could be that Grand (the homeless guy) is uncomfortable with change. Or it might be that Grand is uncomfortable with having to give over his real, verifiable, name and SS#, and be locatable by whatever women from his past he owes child support to, and get red-flagged by whatever agencies have outstanding warrants out for him.

but the guy in this story does not come across as a victim... does not seem to be playing the victim... plus he is taking classes, continuing to learn to code... maybe at some point he will be ready to join society with his skills... at this point he is mentally stunted...

It will end at the very moment the fed raises interest rates. And they will have to. I believe it will be as soon as the GOP takes over the congress.

And 30,000 RPM? That slow?

When I volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul back in the 90s, a majority of the homeless I met were mentally ill. They frittered away their family’s money or otherwise did not know how to take care of themselves and had no one willing to do so.

You can teach a man to code all day, and from what I’ve read, it appears he’s a fruitful coder. More power to him. In my experience, teaching the homeless life skills is more important than a trade, at least initially. Many of them lack the basic understanding of how to shop for themselves or how to balance a checkbook. Learning a trade isn’t useful if you don’t know how to properly allocate the monies gained from working that trade.

That very well could be..but its pretty fast, I will grant you that.

On the other..I think that the fed and democrat party have a very serious political football and will kick it right at the GOP.

Raise the interest rates and the federal debt really skyrockets...and everything that goes along with it. They’ll blame it on the GOP.

And they have to raise them to correct the economy.

Cant argue with you on any of your statements.

If I were the GOP. I would put in place a plan now to head this off. One would be to repeal the FED. Another would be to print the old federal reserve notes again.

Doesn’t NYC have a policy of giving housing to anyone who’s homeless? The dude never needed to be on the street in the first place, and could have found himself a job in the City if he had wanted one.

Yes, and there’s generally something quite wrong with someone who can’t figure out how to shop on his or her own. The mentally slow are the ones who can best benefit from such training. The mentally ill often need meds and some other treatment instead.

The documentary “Dark Days” shows examples of this. http://documentarystorm.com/dark-days/

This story seems similar to that of Ervin T. Rouse, who wrote “Orange Blossom Special”. Though he was taking in royalties that would have provided quite well for him, he lived on the streets. http://www.paulcastlemusic.com/orange-blossom-special.html
