Your dead kids don't trump my constitutional rights': Right-wing icon Joe the Plumber...

...writes outrageous open letter to families of UCSB shooting victims

Political mascot-turned-gun-advocate Samuel 'Joe the Plumber' Wurzelbacher wrote an open letter to grieving parents who lost their children to mass-murderer Elliot Rodger 'As harsh as this sounds,' he insisted on a conservative blog, 'your dead kids don't trump my Constitutional rights' to own guns Wurzelbacher was responding to Richard Martinez, who blamed his son's death on the NRA and 'craven, irresponsible politicians' He became a GOP sensation in 2008 when candidate Barack Obama told him at a campaign event that 'when you spread the wealth around' with taxes, 'it's good for everybody' The crass letter, he wrote, wasn't directed at the parents of Rodger's stabbing victims

A former Republican congressional candidate who owes his mini-stardom to a chance encounter with Barack Obama during his first presidential campaign wrote in an open letter to shooting victims' families that their grief can't override the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I am sorry you lost your child, wrote Samuel Wurzelbacher, known in conservative circles as Joe the Plumber. 'I myself have a son and daughter and the one thing I never want to go through, is what you are going through now.' 'But: As harsh as this sounds – your dead kids don't trump my Constitutional rights.' His harsh words came a day after Richard Martinez, whose so Christopher was gunned down Friday night by mass-killer Elliot Rodger, blamed the National Rifle Association and 'craven, irresponsible politicians' for his son's death.

I am sick to death of our soxiety, always blaming something or someone else but NOT attacking the scum who did the deed.

Look at 9/11. Even discounting the conspiracy nonsense, people were all about blaming and lashing out at government, Bush, US rather than the Moslem scum who ACTUALLY killed people! Victims and witneses and every-day citizens spending time pointing fingers at a “lapse in security” rather than truly getting pissed at the Moslem monsters.

Never mind every crime and mass murder. It’s the fault of guns and those who don’t mind having them, not the actual person who pulled the trigger. The fault of whites who oppress the city scum, etc.

Ridiculous!

You might want to elaborate on that.

Yes, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a “Natural Right”, and merely protected by the constitution, but some might misinterpret your description to mean “not mentioned in the constitution”.

They need to understand that distinction.

The tyrants can outlaw guns, they can pass hundreds of laws against guns, but still We Got A Natural Right to guns.

In 2008 a relative of mine, a real stupid POS, said “I hate Joe the plumber.” I asked him why and he said “Just because.”

I pointed out to him that Joe didn’t do anything. He didn’t even say anything. It was his “god” obama who walked onto Joe’s property and ran his mouth in front of the cameras while trying to take advantage of a photo op. And the press didn’t like that obama had screwed up and let the cat out of the bag so they tried to ruin a private citizen because they disagreed with him. Just like what he would do if he could. He just gave me a fake smile and never brought it up again. He also hated Palin “Because she’s stupid.” I haven’t seen him or spoken to him in years. I’m sure he still hates Joe and Sarah. And I’m sure he’s still a stupid POS.

I know that Mr. Martinez is full of grief and anger right now. But his call to ban guns makes as much sense as the killer’s call to put all women into concentration camps.

Where is the outrage at the man and woman that brought this POS up with no regard for human life no mater what his miserable status was!

Men stabbed with knife = NOT news.
Cute white college girls shot = NEWS.

If you REALLY want to see racism at its finest, check out how much the news media laments over the weekend body counts in the inner parts of major Northern cities. Uhhh...NOT. This truly is the corrosive, institutionalized racism of low expectations.

Of course, they just shoot one another, ho hum...

I’m sorry, but the kid’s dad was doing Important Art by photographing womens’ butts - not just ANY OLD butts, but really “good” ones - “but” (so to speak) not including, apparently, his (ex) wife’s.

I was living in CA and my daughter was 17. she and some friends wanted to go camping around Santa Cruz. I told her she could go but only if she took a firearm. She took it even though it was against the law and her friends laughed at me.

Turns out, some guy that had come to their campground turned out to be a murderer years later.

She never needed to use the gun, but she finally had to admit it was a good idea.

Exactly. Elliot Rodger was a product of the everyone-gets-a-trophy-for-participation culture. He ranted on about how unfair it was that other guys got to enjoy girls and how he deserved to enjoy them also.

Sorry people. I know you are in stages of grief but do not allow that to make you stupid.
Your children were killed by a human being. A KNOWN sick and evil human being........ That is where you will save the nxt child. Dealing with the real issue and not the phony baloney poltical issue of guns...........

Lib Logic 101:

We are told not to judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics.

But we are encouraged to judge all gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

I am so sick of that mans face I could puke.,br> Three people where hacked to death with a machete and the guy screams about guns. Liberals are disgusting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
The man is a drama queen and an attention whore. Not exactly creating a warmly held memory of his son's life.

I've had occasion to meet and know a few parents who lost a child about the same ages as these victims and, aside from delivering a eulogy at their child's memorial service, none that I know of could ever again speak in public about the event or the circumstances of their child's unnatural death.

One would think that only low or no information adults, or very low IQ ones would be unable to understand that the Bill of Rights does not create any rights at all, but simply acknowledge that they exist and are not subject to being "granted" or "withdrawn" by mere mortals, through fiat, popular vote or by any other means...

Really?

"...are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

Not by the Supreme Court, and certainly not by the Founding Fathers (why would they sign that offensive 'declaration thing' document otherwise? Got unalienable?)

That’s the problem, but the opportunistic gun grabbers want to keep it that way.
