My favorite unis are:

England
Brazil
France
Holland

Normally, I would include Germany, but it’s hard to tell which one they are...I only identified them in the pic because of the three stars.

Love that 1950 uniform.

Exactly. Don't bash the sash! A variation on that should be our home kit every World Cup. Has keeping a traditional uniform hurt Argentina or Brazil? What is this? 125 years of Dutch football with an orange jersey? The crest on this year's Dutch home jersey is the same crest worn from 1907 until the 1970s. Tradition.

Take some liberty with the away kit or the thirds, but wear home kit that always says "that's the USA."

I’d always expect those five (including Germany) to be at the top. England’s home whites are classic. England’s away is a red on red pinstripe with the three lions. Also classy.

If Luis Suarez plays up to form, Uruguay could do it again.
The facepalm!

I like the outward Christian symbol on Portugal's Euro Jersey/Shirt, just the way I like the vintage Inter Milan's Crusader jersey as well, 2nd photo below seems to be an updated version.

Of course, many and maybe most teams have fine kits.

Australia, the Navy Blue of Japan's uniforms is nice. Ireland, not there, etc. I recognize the Columbian shirt if it is the 3rd row yellow one, that's pretty nice.

Those are real nice, I had a warmup USA jacket that somehow has gotten away from me and I loved that blue jacket with the US Soccer emblem on it. Sad.

Toffs England sells retro, I have actually gotten some of their products... but I think I got it more from an outfit in England called Sportingkicks.co.uk, who have some good deals on clearance sometimes.

I have a 1994 German shirt that is for of all people, Klinsmann, I need to get that shirt out, it's probably one size to small to wear. I got it about 6 years ago in a thrift store and even at that time, I considered it a bargain. Goes without saying, I don't really cheer the German team, they are okay and have had some very good players and teams.

Italy might not have had a "loud" jersey/shirt but per the USA's jersey above with stars and Germanys, USA 1994 was the World Cup of a few teams wearing dynamic kits/uniforms. Cameroon's I'll just link it, image is too big.

Mexico's darks were more conventional but their whites were fancy: and of course, their goalkeeper Campos was known for his flamboyant outfits.

What happened in 1994 was terrible, this is 2014, Colombia is definitely a dark horse to win it, think I’ll go with the upset.

Colombia.

Quiz Time How are people's guessing abilities? I can only guess about half of these. And at that, the very obvious ones. 2nd to the last has what looks to be like the Manchester City badge.

Diskerud, a Norweigen-American

I guess the Daily News cut their copy editors when Donovan got cut.

Speaking of which, I still think cutting Donovan was a mistake, though it is great to see Diskerud live up to his potential.

I wrote this out ahead of time and the 4th player to me looks like Ruud Gullit. Wears Orange as well, that is the odd thing about these images, it's some older time players and some newer.

1st Row: Zidane, Maradona, don't know, Ruud Gullit, Balderamma,

2nd Row: I think this may be the Portuguese Deco or Figo (one of those may have been born in Brazil but played for Portugal), Robin Van Persie, I will guess Socrates, (as DFWGator does as well) ?? One of the Argentines or Spaniards on Man City, (I just looked up Sergio Arguero, I am thinking him, and last? I'm tempted to say Balotelli but I don't think that is right.
