Is anyone else shocked, that a rapper such as 50 Cent is given this honor and legitimacy, of throwing out the first ball at a game? Isn’t this an endorsement by major league baseball of rap and everything involved with the rap ghetto culture? Is that really the image baseball wants to convey?

Speaking of embarrassing if you scroll down on the same link you see a woman catch a flying bat one handed while her significant other tries to go fetal.

Looked to me like a righthander throwing left handed.
My impression too.

Might get flamed for this, but 50 Cent is actually on record supporting Republicans and conservative ideas. He’s a notable right-of-center celebrity.

In the past decade or so, I've noticed a shift in this gender-assigned role of providing protection. The womenfolk are putting the US male to shame over and over and over. 8>(

My 1st couple of throws feels like sand in my rotator cuff. 25 years of high school baseball batting practice has taken a toll.Did you finally get to graduate? ;^)

I'm looking at 2 more years and I'll “graduate” the same year as my youngest son.
I've been out of coaching for the last 2 years, spending more time running a ministry called Eternal Pastime; we collect new/used sports equipment (mostly baseball)and send it to missionaries doing sports evangelism in some of the world's poorest countries. Taking my 2 sons to Cuba in about a month.

With a name like “fungoking”, I figured you’d be into coaching. Keep doing the God’s work, and thanks for being a good sport.
