Back, when I lived in Atalanta 15 years ago, it was common knowledge not to hang out at Waffle Houses or IHOP’s at night.

(Another secret: apparently the Amish don’t go near Original Pancake Houses and so it’s OK to hang out there.)
It’s the location more than anything else. I’ve spent a lot of late nights at the Awful Waffle, and only once did I even see a fight. (Instigator was a drunk white kid, BTW. Server immobilized him without breaking a sweat, after which DWK got a trip to the Graybar Hotel.)
