Quantum Entanglement And Faster Than Light Data Transmission

Over the past week there has been quite a buzz in the scientific community over a Dutch experiment reliably transmitting data instantly between two electrons via quantum entanglement. While many reports are sensationalizing the discovery, referring to it as a breakthrough in ‘teleportation’, there’s something almost as exciting as physical transportation already proven possible in the experiment: instant communication! While scientists have reached a 3-meter(or 10-foot) range with a 100% success rate, worldwide implementation would revolutionize communication. Instant text messages, infinitely scalable internet bandwidth, and sub-millisecond(or even sub-measurable) latency. Even now, our fastest long-distance communication efforts are too slow to be pushed any further. NASA, one of the foremost names in high-tech, has to wait 13-minutes to remotely issue a command to the Curiosity rover.

So how does it work? In basic terms:

Quantum Entanglement Data Transmission

Since the data technically does not travel through physical matter to reach the receiver, there’s no inherent risk of natural effects on the transmission itself. Data transmission through quantum entanglement could usher in a new era of computing without fear of disruption or as much dependence on redundancy. Electronic hardware itself would be restructured from the ground up, less resistors, less heat, and less restrictions on bandwidth across the board. Concern for network growth in isolated areas might also soon be a thing of the past, if researchers manage to create a reliable way for global reach of the transmission, there wouldn’t even be a need for cable installation or cell towers!

The experiments are being conducted at the Delft University of Technology in the Western Netherlands and lead by a Professor Ronald Hanson. According to TU Delft’s news board, Hanson plans to repeat the experiment in the upcoming months, but with a new distance goal of 1.3km(0.8mi) to prove beyond a doubt that Einstein was wrong in his rejection of quantum entanglement.

This finding might explain the Fermi Paradox. Our electromagnetic spectrum searches (SETI) for off-planet evidence of intelligence may be failing because ET is using entanglement techniques. But how can we tune in on the dialogue without a copy of an entangled alien particle?

I suspect time will be involved some how, some way but for communication it should not require satellites and the transmission would be inherently secure. No way to eaves drop on the signal between the transmitter and receiver.

The consistent problem is that the results never violate causality. That is, while it looks promising to do so, it never quite transmits data faster, or *effectively* faster, than the speed of light.

Quantum Entaglinement — when changing your Post afterthought instantaneously affects another.

I thought that twins did this all the time.

Hmmm. Why does a little birdy whisper in my ear: “Be careful of experimental results that exceed established theoretical limits”.

I do remember reading more than once that the whole entanglement enchilada could not be used to send information faster than the speed of light.

I liked SGU before it became a soapbox for the clamlicker cause... I moved at some point during season 2, and since I don’t own a television set I never saw how everything turned out... I just hope that the fat geeky guy got to nail the hot chick at some point.

Nope.

And the series ended with all of them in deep sleep chambers.

My biggest disappointment was we never got to see how the ship looked when it was new and fully staffed by the original crew. Maybe somebody could have made telepathic contact with one of them......or something.

Are you aware of the Holographic Principle?

The ansible is an invention of the Formics - and they’re already on their way here.

I wasn't aware of the Holographic Principle. I looked it up. It will take a while to digest. Thanks.

I agree, I think.

Our universe has three, or four if you count time, dimensions that we perceive.

There are more we cannot perceive. Number not knowable at this point.

This seems to tie in to some extent with the scriptural idea of the spirit world, coexisting in some way parallel to our own, but one we cannot perceive directly. Or at least not consistently.

It is a matter of resonance connecting dimensions at their variable expressions. Dimension space has length, width, and height, while dimension time has linear, planar, and volume. Time is a volume at Universe level, but is only planar at photon level, for the photon crosses the Universe outside of linear time, always in the present of when it was emitted.
