Two former comrades of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl have confirmed to MailOnline that their former platoon-mate walked away from his post in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009 with the intention of reneging on his military oath.
'I'm positive that he's a deserter, and that it was all premeditated,' said Gerald Sutton, a 31-year-old Michigan college student who left the military in September 2012 and said he was 'a good friend' of Bergdahl when they were deployed to the Middle East.
A Pentagon investigation established in 2010 that on that Tuesday, Bergdahl abandoned his platoon in a war zone near the Pakistan border while serving with the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
The Idaho native's disappearance led to an all-hands-on-deck manhunt in Afghanistan's Paktika Province, as thousands of troops were diverted to rescue a man who left the safety of his outpost with his eyes open.

Obama must’ve known this. You could almost say he used this guy to FREE Taliban men.
If this is literally true (word for word), then there is a chain of culpability leading from his immediate NCO to the top.
The death penalty would not be enough... public torture to an ultimate death, leading to destroying his remains and throwing them out into a volcano or something (the sea that I sailed on and flew over is too good for his worthless body)!

Im all for putting BOTH Berhdahl and his Bin Laden looking daddy in Guantanamo Bay..I think his daddy was a co-conspirator in this whole thing..when his son sent that email saying how America is “Disgusting” his daddy wrote back “Go with your conscience.”

As I understand it, desertion in the face of the enemy is a capital crime under UCMJ.

I have a bit of a different slant on this issue, and I’ll bet I’m not too far off the mark. I think the son, Bowe, who may have initially switched to Islam to save his neck, so to speak, jumped in with both feet and became a true believer. I bet he was in on teaching his new fellow Muzzies how to make bombs and was slamming the U.S. twice as much as his newfound buddies, while growing his beard out. I think he saw himself as one of them, now trusted by them and a fellow Jihad travellor.
However, what Bowe didn’t bargain for was that his fellow Islamists were getting ready to throw him under the bus in order to liberate 5 real Afghan Taliban, being held at Gitmo as prisoners. That Bowe didn’t didn’t bargain on, that the Taliban would want 5 real Jihadists back in their fold, especially ones that were probably the brains behind many an attack on Westerners, preferably on U.S. ones. And the Taliban was more than happy to trade in one faux Jihadist for 5 real ones. That hadn’t entered into Bowe’s equation.
Now Bowe has been traded in for the 5 Gitmo Jihadists, and I’m sure he is exceedingly bewildered and feeling very betrayed. He thought he was one of them, a fellow Jihadist. Now he has been jilted and sent back to what he now considers the enemy, that’s us. And could end up in the klink back in the good old USA for desertion to boot. What a culture shock.
Hence he doesn’t want to speak the enemy’s language, that’s English. So Pops, I can’t say a chip off the old block as Pops IS the old block, who seems to have mimicked his son’s Islamist propensities, speaks to his son who won’t speak English, in Arabic. How jolly, how easily Pops and son will be able to communicate with one another when Bowe gets home. Poor young Bowe, he’s got to be one big psychological mess right now; he’s neither fish nor fowl, just a lonely Jihadist without a country. The fun begins.

One of the Taliban’s demands had been that Mr. Karzai’s government not be involved in the negotiations to free Sgt. Bergdahl. Perhaps Mr. Karzai was informed of what was transpiring and he refused to meet with Obama for that reason.**

I imagine the regime has large cache of shit that it can use to annoy and distract the public in order to diffuse the greater scandal.
Ballet-dancing huh? If it turns out this guy is gay then it further solidifies the idea they shouldn't be serving in the military especially now knowing he has 6 deaths on his hands.
This is why once back here he never leaves custody of the military. I can see this going on his own personal jihad here in the USA.
