Quinn and Rose are off the air, and we await word that they are, hopefully, returning soon. (Stand by) Meanwhile, our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will meet in our usual spot - same time, same station - as we always have! So grab your coffee - or whatever you choose to start your day - and drop in for some political chit-chat, or just to shoot the breeze! We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say hi! Feel free to join us!
We are dropping news at WSHH. Should have done that long ago. What we have been doing for news is a joke. It will be replaced with "5 things you need to know before you leave this morning." I will probably be asked to put that together but the things I would include aren't what the consultants would like.
They'll want Kardashian and Kanye, puppy parades at local schools...ANYTHING but what someone really needs to know.
If I can I'll pass.
Meanwhile Jack Bogut and Bill Cardille were called to the conference room yesterday. Presumably they were told what is happening with WJAS and they will no longer be on the station. No one knows exactly what went down but word is they didn't look happy.
So to distract myself from BO, Taliban, Bergdahl, Benghazi, the VA and the rest I am cooking and eating.
Alton Brown is my HERO!
This is VERY COOL!
Also this even though it's not Alton.
Might have posted that before.
Good morning n’@!
Too much awfulness in the news...I’m gonna give Barry and his Obots props...HE IS TRANSPARENT (now) in his efforts to turn the US into a third world nation.
I also (putting the tinfoil on) really have a weird, ugly feeling about the investigative journalist (remember those?) that wrote the Rolling Stone piece on the “missing” Bergdahl THEN had an accident (in a brand new Mercedes) and died. What all did Hastings learn/know/have access to on Bergdahl?
Sorry to hear about Bogut and Chilly Billy :( I think the “5 things you need to know” segment pretty much sums up our dumbed downness. I think we are at the tipping point...and once we tip over its over as we used to know it.
The only reason we’re no dropping cable is because of Fox News Channel. Say what you want, it’s still the most reliable of the stations for news. Love Bret Bair. OK, I also really like to watch “Restaurant Impossible”.
I make macarons. It takes lots of egg whites and I have lots of egg yolks left over. I found a really delicious lemon curd on Alton Browns website that uses lots of egg yolks. Also, I want to try the homemade peanut butter recipe from Alton Brown! I’m going to check out your links!
Jack Bogut and Bill Cardille have had long runs. I used to love listening to Bogut in the morning on KDKA.
Just noticed the time!!! Gotta run! I’ll be on in awhile again!
The video of Alton making peanut butter is great. Also him making grilled cheese sandwiches. He grills the cheese...without the bread.
Wait wait wait.....the guy from the firey Mercedes crash in Los Angeles wrote a story on our dear war hero Bowe???
I totally missed that. Wow. Just wow.
“It will be replaced with “5 things you need to know before you leave this morning.” “
What, are they copying what WLTJ does with their “3 things you need to know” that replaced their “news”?
I listen to KDKA in the AMs (I too, used to love Bogut in the mornings, when I was a kid). I don’t know what else to listen to as I try not to get killed on Rte 28 every morning.
I think what I really need to do is download podcasts from people like Joe Pags, Jerry Doyle, Roger Hedgecock & listen to those on my way.
Keep the faith, FReeps - our prayers are probably the only thing keeping this country together.
yes! THAT Michael Hastings...and at the time some were asking (because his “accident”’occurred as he was racing to LAX in the wee morning hours I a tank of a Mercedes) “wonder what he was working on?’ If I recall, he left some really cryptic “I gotta go away for awhile” messages on one or two friends answering machines BEFORE that fateful drive.
I keep reading references to his article...but so far, no one questioning his accident. Just really odd and malevolent story.
Sickening. Our government is a criminal enterprise.
By reputation Bogut and Cardille are two true gentlemen. Sad to see it end this way for them.
Don’t forget Mark Steyn!!
