MILWAUKEE Jane Flint was at work when a friend called and warned her that Milwaukee police were about to search her home for endangered reptiles. She rushed home to keep her four boisterous dogs from interfering with police, but before she arrived, officers shot and killed two of the Tibetan mastiffs.
She's never been told her why.
Milwaukee police shoot and kill dozens of dogs each year, often saying the animals appeared to be a threat to officers or to the public. But in response to criticism and two lawsuits, police have been able to reduce that number with improved training, which began in 2012 and expands this fall. The sessions teach officers to recognize when dogs' actions are nonthreatening or when less-lethal defense might be more effective.

As long as they are at-large pit bulls, I have no problem with this.
WHO EDITS THIS PAPER? Yes, I was yelling.
“Tibetan mastiffs” are not pitbulls.
Nor were they at large.
Taze the dogs. Shoot the criminals.
You really, really, really should do your homework.
A pit bull ate my homework :)
Where in the story do you see that ALL of the dogs shot were Tibetan mastiffs not at large?
Same place it says its morally acceptable for cops to shoot dogs willy nilly.
Yes, they are good dogs.
Stop “reading” your picture book and pay attention to words.

Any answer other than in response to this question will not be accepted.
A lesbian’s dog of choice, I’ll bet. Especially when she has 4 of them.
Well copper since you said it was ok for all pitbulls to die, I’d say the responsibility to prove your statement has precedence.
I could give a sh!@ about your acceptance or not. Are you testy because you haven’t met your quota this week for dead dogs?
You assume way too much out of your pay grade, ass - u - me!
With all these dangerous dogs running around Milwaukee, it is funny that the police chief thinks that all citizens should be disarmed.
In fact his statement when open carry was ruled to be the law of the state was that his officers will take people down and ask questions later. Hmmm, seems to be his attitude towards dogs too now that I think of it.
bad cop, no donut
Between 2000 and 2008, Milwaukee police shot and killed 434 dogs, or an average of 48 per year.
Now times that by the number of towns and cities and you have some thousands and thousands of animals being shot. These trigger happy guys need to be fired from their job. They should not have access to weapons.
That’s actually a Rottweiler with a bad ‘80s haircut:)
