Well, I know of at least one person here who will approve.
We have exactly as many taboos now as the Pilgrims —we just took all the dictates on sexual propriety and dropped them on food and smoking.
But there is still “taboo conservation” —no actual change.
Ban tobacco, Big Gulps, and pin-up pictures. Start encouraging marijuana and “sex change” operations instead? Only the far left could imagine that this makes sense.
A lot of homosexuals smoke, this discriminates against them.

let me get this right....they “bent over” backwards to accomadate homosexual sailors on base, on ships, everywhere and anywhere, knowing full well that the health risks with homosexual activity is immense, yet the sailors can’t buy a cigarrette on base...????

A lot of homosexuals smoke for the same reason a lot mental patients smoke. They are crazy.
You are right. Today we have no taboos remaining on sexual behavior. The culture celebrates any number of partners, any gender of partners.
But smoke a cigarette, OMG, that person is evil, tobacco companies are evil, yadda, yadda, yadda.
How do the liberals reconcile attitudes on smoking cigarettes vs. smoking marijuana? If smoking is bad, then smoking anything should be bad, right? Yet the liberals, who push for legal marijuana, and feel that smoking marijuana is harmless, are also the ones who are pushing ideas such as banning or limiting cigarettes.

I remember when I first went in the service they were $1.80 a carton. No taxes. I would buy 4 cartons on payday. 3 for me and 1 for guys who didn’t think ahead.
