Lego has apparently heard the criticism that its plastic universe is mostly a boys' club, and things will change this summer. A new line of figurines due out in August will feature a female chemist, paleontologist, and astronomer, reports Time. The set was suggested by a female geochemist in Sweden as part of the Lego Ideas platform in which regular folks get to suggest ideas that get put up for a vote. One thing the Guardian likes: The coming set looks "notably devoid of pink." It's about time, writes Abby Phillip at the Washington Post.

First thing that popped into my head is Marie Curie, made of little glow-in-the-dark legos. That would be cool!
Those poor oppressed girls make up only 55% of the colleges. How will they ever survive without more Marxism?

The only way to make a Lego “female” is to give it long hair and a dress.
And that’s.....sexist stereotyping.
What portion of that 55%, though, can be found in the science and engineering majors? I’d be willing to bet that a good number of them are in various “social sciences” and “___ studies” majors.
Who cares, it is time to stop the Affirmative Action garbage to make one oppressed group equal to another by lowering the bar. If girls don’t want to play with Legos, so what?
