Posted on 06/06/2014 5:46:48 PM PDT by SunkenCiv
Remains of a Jewish settlement from the Second Temple period were partially uncovered in the western and southern sections of Tel Hebron, near Tel Rumeida in Hebron, and visitors were allowed to see them.
These remains were found outside the the Middle Bronze Age (the Patriarch period) wall that was previously found in Hebron.
An industrial area was discovered with an olive oil press, cisterns, a workshop with a furnace and ponds. From the industrial area, there is a road that leads to the city square and center of the town, but that section hasnt been excavated yet.
In an amazing find in the agricultural areas, stone tools were found, as well as a stamp in ancient Hebrew, with the words King of Hebron on it.
Stone tools were used for ritual purity reasons.
These excavations began years ago, but the archaeologists were forced to temporarily stop the dig, and now theyve begun again, with new discoveries all the time.

Very nice. Thanks. Israel’s past is fascinating. )But Israel needs to be building today for tomorrow, too. )
Jews have been in Israel for over four thousand years. The Palestinians, not so much, what, 1948? And before that they weren’t even called Palestinian.
It it’s in a pali controlled area, which Hebron is, before long it will be destroyed.
Proof of Jewish life predating arab & muslim occupation is simply not tolerated by palis, arabs, & muslims.
It is. But you don’t know where you are going unless you know where you came from.
Ok. Thanks. ? Now maybe Bibi will stop appeasing Obama and release the construction crews
Obama is dangerous to America and even more so to Israel. It is good that Netanyahu is being somewhat cautious while that threat is still in the White House. I pray that both of our countries will survive the remaining two years of this danger. Fortunately, we know which side God is on; Israel will win in the end.
Good. It should be closer to 330,000 homes (Israel has a housing shortage ever since it’s govt’s started restricting the supply). And it should have been twenty or thirty years ago already. And it shouldn’t be as “responses to Arab terrorism” ( admitted always a reliable feature of life on rock three). But simply as normal development and progress for Israel’s citizenry. Still and all. 3300 homes for people is at least a small step forward. Thanks
Since the “West Bank” and “East Jerusalem” were the home of Jews prior to the ethnic cleansing by King Hussein of Jordan after the 1948 War of Independence, and Israel reclaimed it in 1967, the Israelis have been extraordinarily patient.
Stupidly, possibly suicidally “ patient”. What have they been waiting for? Godot?? It’s nuts. No other country on earth would have done that to itself. And for absolutely no benefit whatsoever
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
That’s how long we’ve been posing an obstacle to piece with our wicked settlements.
Too late. They have photos.
;’) Obviously, this evil plot was planned thousands of years in advance!!! ;’)
Ssshhhh! Let them think of it on their own.
The term “settlements” is just propaganda. Most of houses are suburbs and exurbs of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
