On June 3, RH Reality Checks Andrea Grimes wrote about the abortion access crisis in East Texas where, due to clinic closures, women are being forced to travel hundreds of miles roundtrip to Houston, Dallas, or Shreveport for legal abortion care.
Save one, the examples Grimes gave to draw sympathy didnt, at least from me:
I am 23 years old. I live in McAllen. Im a single mother, with one child. Another: Im from Mercedes, Im 33 years old, a mother of two, and Im living with my parents. And another: I just turned 18 years old. I am unemployed and a full-time college student. I cannot afford to have a child.
The stories of East Texans who seek abortion care are as varied as the folks who live there: theres the woman left high and dry by an ex who didnt really care about her pregnancy, the newly pregnant woman already raising a 10-month-old, the woman whose partner disappeared as soon as she told him about the pregnancy, the woman who went in for a prenatal check-up only to find her baby had no cranial structure.
Setting aside the tragic case of the mother carrying a handicapped baby, the other six supposedly tragic figures knew how babies are made and either knew they didnt want one or exercised poor judgment and chose to have sex with creeps.
imgresHow many of those women, like Emily Letts (pictured left), didnt even try to preempt pregnancy by using contraception? How many of the men they had sex with didnt care?
How many may have used contraception but were lulled into a false sense of security to believe it works, when most methods have a high failure rate?
Its time women in states with disappearing abortion clinics woke up to the fact they can no longer rely on abortion for primary or back-up birth control.
Contrary to feminist myth, sex is not a bodily function that cant be stopped. Its an action, a decision, a behavior.
Over at Talking Points Memo, abortion proponent Robin Marty warned of a coming abortion backlog due to TRAP laws being enacted around the country:
Planned Parenthood, the only other Milwaukee clinic, has stated they already have a two to three week wait for patients to get in for terminations, and that if AMS is closed that wait will likely extend to eight to 10 weeks in order to handle the additional 2,500 patients a year.
That would make almost every patient need to seek a second trimester procedure, which increases the price drastically, or go to the next closest available city abortion friendly city .
As if any of this is the fault of any other than shoddy abortion clinics that cant even live up to the same standards as veterinary clinics; crackpot, circuit-riding abortionists who cant get hospital admitting privileges; or women who play Russian Roulette with their reproductive systems.
A feminist with common sense would be telling these women to take back their self-respect and stop having casual sex no sex unless they are in a committed relationship with a ring on it, and where both partners are prepared to raise their children together if a pregnancy should happen, even if unintended.
Because obviously, the current anything-but-that advice of liberal feminists isnt working.
But no, we have are feminists who are so brainwashed about abortion they are in turn brainwashing the next generation, coddling their poor decisions along the way.
This despite the obvious and catastrophic failures (examples were Grimes, not mine) of the reproductive freedom mentality.
“the sexual revolution” didn’t liberate women, it liberated men from their responsibilities to women. What I see are women (and children) all bearing the sad consequences.
It precipitates the destruction of families, thus it turns us all into individual serfs.
Ok, then how do you find the time to mate with some guy who won't step up to the plate and pay for his children?
By 33, and a mother of two, I'm going to guess you KNOW where babies come from.
And just WHO is taking care of your offspring?
I'm guessing again that it's your parents.
Are you some female gorilla in estrus, who mates with every member of the tribe?
Until you are worn out, or dead?
DON'T answer that question.
IMHO, you are probably not that far removed from a simple animal, who doesn't know any better than to couple with another primate.
Sorry to be harsh, but people like this make me sick.
And again, why is it MY problem when you get pregnant?
Seems like YOU had some role in the matter.
If our laws were Biblically-based, most unwanted pregnancies would never happen in the first place.
That actually is not true. Used correctly, most contraceptive methods have over 99% efficacy rates. Most women having abortions failed to use any contraceptives. Of course, a contraceptive unused has a 100% failure rate.
With luck, the women who usually use abortion as their primary method of birth control get the idea that it may be difficult to find abortuaries still operating after health and safety standards are enforced, and begin to use contraceptives as a result. Or practice some discretion in whether they have sex with guys they don't know.
With the exception being “The Maury Povich Show.”
Where the men get laid and the womens get paid [child support orders]
“Are you some female gorilla in estrus, who mates with every member of the tribe? Until you are worn out, or dead?”
The female ape mates with all the males to protect her young; if none are certain whose genes are involved, none will try to kill a baby known not to be his.
Reverse evolution?
The slip-rip-and-drip rate for condoms in the real world yields a pregnancy rate which is staggering, even if you use them 100% of the time (which people won't.)
Most people on daily pill regimens of any type (for depression, diabetes, HBP or even pain) regularly miss doses, and this is even more true for OC users.
The hormonal patch, implant, or injection option is being pushed like crazy FOR ALL WOMEN between menarche and menopause by the HHS (that's the whole story behind the HHS mandate) because they know only long-term hormonal sabotage will reliably prevent pregnancy in sexually active women, which they presume to be "all women."
Grand parents are taking care of the grands, is how that works.
If you do not want more children get your tubes tied. Use contraceptive foam on top of rubbers for extra protection. OR JUST REFRAIN from having sex until you are married, and ready to have a child.
“By 33, and a mother of two, I’m going to guess you KNOW where babies come from.”
No they don’t. Seriously. They know what sex is. They know it feels good. They have not made the connection that having sex produces a baby. Or that the reason all animal have sex is to produce a baby. They think the only reason to have sex is to “feel good” at the moment.
