Media Blackout on US President Chewing Gum During D-Day Ceremony
Vanity | 6/7/2014 | Self

Posted on 06/07/2014 10:32:36 AM PDT by PieterCasparzen

I'm still hearing coverage of the President being at the D-Day ceremony.

But not a peep about his gum-chewing.

Which was an intentional act, and its purpose was to show disrespect to the the US military and America, and thus be an insult to patriotic Americans.

Republican politicians are, for the most part, silent in the matter.

This is a great example of why the Republican party is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

What's needed is Christian dominion over all political parties, not over one, and allowing other political parties to be anti-Christ, with no internal Christian influence. That's like an army conceding certain parts of the battlefield to the enemy, then wondering why they can not attain full victory.

America needs a Christian revival of the TRUE GOSPEL, and to Covenant with God, and become a truly Covenanted Christian nation.

Until then, we will live under this tyranny that persecutes Christians, makes merchandise of the people, and mocks God. Until America turns back to God, in Spirit and in Truth, God will continue to curse America with wicked leadership.

Based on my readings, I've found that WWII was a banker's war, a horrible unjust criminal war purposely engineered by financial elites. But the men who fought and died in that war, and did not know any of what instigations went on in secret - they had no idea of such things. Those men were simply serving their country in wartime, and, accordingly, those men deserve respect from America. Every American President, as the leader of the nation, is obviously honor-bound to show that same respect.

Many of us can't help but feel the utmost of Christian love, honor and appreciation for combat veterans; a special bond of friendship that always remains with us. But those are our personal feelings, and we understand that not everyone has the same feelings we do. I think most of us, however, would harbor the hope that every American would take the time to learn at least the basics of history, and to consider the service of our veterans and at least have the sensibility to show a minimum of human decency and respect towards them.

For those who have questions on faith and perseverance, I humbly suggest that you consider some reading on those Pilgrims who came to America, their story and their faith.

A little Scripture reading is always good for increasing the Christian's wisdom, strength and courage:

The Epistle of Paul to the Romans, Chapter 8

"1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Was the U.S. responsible for the D-Day interpretive dance?

Just this morning I awoke with that 1 Chronicles scripture in my mind about “His people who are called by His name” humbling themselves to pray and He would heal their nation, etc. and I prayed and said I was sorry for what we’ve become as a nation. We aren’t “His people” anymore, there are of course Christians left in America, praying for her daily, but that train has left the station, heading for a cliff. I prayed He come back soon and redeem us all.

In my memory, the most memorable and positive appearance by a U.S. president at D-Day commemorative ceremonies, was Reagan’s speech in 1984. Obama’s speech was very forgettable, in my opinion.

This may be the last major commemoration featuring veterans who were part of the Normandy invasion. The passage of time has taken most of them from us. The 75th anniversary in five years will be worth noting. But just wonder how many will still be around for that.

D-Day will always be worth the commemoration, but, just wonder how much longer participants will be with us.

From what they reported, the host country of France put on that show, not that your average Frenchman would like it any more than we would.

It was strictly by new world order elites for new world order elites, European Unions stars and all.

“EU Council” “President” Van Rompuy kept skulking around on the video, but the commentators only mentioned him one time that I heard.

Of course, all the other people were representing actual countries that existed at the time of WWII. So it was a little weird to point out him being there as if he was representing someone or something other than bankers.

I could see why actual people in the different countries of Europe have some strong anti-EU movements going. It’s sickening.

It makes one barf, just like the financial elites’ con game called the United Nations.

Obama obviously goes out of his way to insult America in general and the Military in particular. However, the gum chewing—almost certainly Nicorette—was more likely a result of his addictive-dysfunctional personality. You’d have to have spent a lot of time around a seriously addiction-dysfunctional person to know how bad it gets. They say Obama is playing golf at unprecedented levels. He’s partying—with abundant alcohol—in a similar measure. We don’t know about smoking, but odds are it’s up. There are rumors he spends enormous amounts of time watching ESPN. If we had more info, this list would doubtless be much longer.

Get Obama in a Normandy-beach setting, & he’s temporarily cut off from all his addictive outlets/props. The fact that he can’t go even that short period of time without a serious Nicorette fix is a window into how bad it’s gotten. This is an addictive-dysfunctional wreck careening down the highway toward a massive smash up.

Obama uses his addictions to separate himself from unpleasant realities. For some time now reality has been more and more unpleasant. He is unpopular & his polls stubbornly refuse to rebound. Criticism from his own party is intensifying. His Bergdahl blunder is evidence of desperation. He just had to get the news cycle off the VA scandal. But he’s so isolated & distracted that he had no idea of the firestorm he would provoke.

Yes, his gum chomping reflected badly on America, & certainly insulted the vets. But its primary function most likely was to get nicotine into his system. He is out of control. He’s living from golf game to golf game, party to party, drink to drink, etc. No matter how hard they try, his managers won’t be able to haul him unscathed to the end of this term. Addiction-dysfunction is a downward spiral. Obama is caught in it, & intensifying its severity over time. This will not end well.

Don’t forget imprecatory prayers; the Psalms have a lot of them which one can use to understand the concepts, as well as pray directly.

Pray that God will crush his enemies.

I recently started including this in my prayers more.

The Psalms are so wonderful. The Pilgrims and the Reformed of those days practiced exclusive Psalmody.

God’s own Psalms, divinely inspired, God-breathed.

Great ! I’ll keep praying my imprecatory prayers that God destroy him unless he repent and mend his wicked ways.

And that goes for any political leader that demonstrates a wicked hatred of God and his Law Word, the Bible, and refuses to repent and seek salvation in Jesus Christ.

This includes most every politician we have, save a few, who do not appear to be complete hucksters, so it’s not so clear that they are wicked.

But those who flagrantly contradict the Bible, persecute Christians and do basically nothing but other wicked acts - God please destroy them, and place godly leaders over us ! Please God !

We repent from our wicked ways; help us, make us the Lord’s good and faithful servants ! We look only to Jesus Christ, only begotten Son of God, our Lord and Savior, for our salvation. Create in us a clean heart !

The Psalms are certainly inspired, but we have moved from the Old to the New Covenant. We no longer pray for the destruction of our enemies. Rather, as Jesus put it in Matthew 5:

“43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Or to put it with even greater clarity, from Luke 6:

“27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.”

In this Covenant, we pray for God to bless our enemies. However, we are encouraged to pray to God to “deliver us from evil” - and I do so, every single day. (I.e.: you can pray that Obama & his family will be blessed, & even that they will know the greatest blessing of all, new life in Christ. It’s not inconsistent, however, to pray at the same time that God will deliver us from the evil Obama is inflicting. Both prayers can be answered, & are not mutually exclusive.)

It is absolutely true that he did it on purpose. He is showing his cronies and his screwed up ‘base’ that he doesn’t really give a damn about D-Day.

Might have been a Nicorette but nevertheless it was totally tasteless to do that during a public ceremony. Even ‘Weezie’ wouldn’t have let George do that.

When those veterans in the ceremony served as young men during WWII...

How many of them chewed gum while standing at attention, in any type of ceremony ?

Did their commanding officers chew gum during ceremonies ?

What if any of them did chew gum during a ceremony - during WWII - what would have happened ?

Any vets from WWII want to weigh in on this ?

When you were standing at attention for inspection, could you chew gum ? Did the officer doing the inspection ever chew gum ?

What would Patton have done ?

Now we have the Commander-in-Chief chewing gum at a ceremony to honor veterans.

I took more pride marching in the high school band than the US President shows at an international combat veterans ceremony.

IMHO...

Also, no pointing out by the media of the hypocrisy of the man who barred Normandy veterans from their monuments last fall, turning around and praising them when the cameras were rolling. But the lazy a** American Sheeple don't know, and don't care.
