Can California Chrome become the Triple Crown Winner after 36 years? This is considered one of the most difficult tasks in all of sports.

It is the longest of the three races, also it is the farthest distance for the horses to run at 1 1/2 miles.

The race is on NBC now. The horses are on their way to the paddock.

I sure hope he can win. Best horse racing story in a long time. 36 years is too long without a TC winner.

Riding an animal that does all the work is considered a sport?

I’m tuned in already, though their broadcast is just filler at the moment.

I'll do the best I can to post what's happening. I'm just a bit slow at the keyboard.

Bring It Home California Chrome!

Pound for pound jockeys are considered to be some of the most fit athletes in all of sports.

They all look great.

California Chrome looks like he hasn't lost anything to the grueling schedule of the Triple Crown races. (Many times the horses will lose a bit of weight by the time they get to the Belmont.)

His race odds are good, but his real odds are slim. There are more good horses in this race than the Preakness. Chrome was fading at the Preakness also, and the Belmont has more track to cover. Personally I give him 1 chance in 4. Espinoza will have to be a genius today.
