I love old movies. Sadly those actors/actresses are dying or dead.

What little of her movie career existed, she owed to nepotism. Her uncle was the founder of universal pictures.

From wiki:

The poet Ogden Nash observed the following about Laemmle’s habit of giving his son and nephews top executive positions in his studios:

“Uncle Carl Laemmle
Has a very large faemmle.

A great lady from a great old Hollywood family. I’m sad to see her go.

i saw Sunset Boulevard at the Orpheum Theatre in San Fran in the late 1990s... Petula Clark of “Downtown,” played the role of Norma Desmond... she was really good... however, i cannot help but think of Carol Burnett’s parody of Norma Desmond whenever the subject arises...

I’ve long hoped that someone would set up a nostalgia site for films where all the principals involved have passed away. Not really much more that a long list of films with links to the IMDb site.

And then, as all the major films of a given year no longer have any living principals, the year will get its own memorial.

I thought Hemmingway initially but it looks more like Walter Huston; but even then the pic looks too old to be Huston at that age.
