n a dramatic Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs triumphed over the Miami Heat to win the NBA title Sunday night, closing out the series with a 104-87 victory.

After a dismal start, the Spurs rallied and turned things around, entering halftime with a 47-40 lead. When the game resumed, they never looked back and were up by more than 20 points multiple times in the second half.

The Spurs went into Sunday's game leading the series 3-1, a monster deficit for the Heat that no team has overcome in the NBA Finals. It was no different this time, and the Heat's two-year title reign came to an end.

This was the fifth NBA title in franchise history for the Spurs.

Kawhi Leonard, who defended against Lebrone James and matched him point for point was named the MVP of the finals.

I hate basketball, but as a sports fan I always thought Tim Duncan came across as a class act and a gentleman among many thugs, so I guess I can see this is great news! LOL.

This Spurs team are only champions but this Spurs team is one of those generational teams that will be remembered for decades to come. They make playing basketball such a beautiful thing and they humiliated the Heat

Maybe now that the street gangs have finished their b-ball entertainment, obama will be briefed on whats happening in the real world...

If only people cared about our country rather than whats on TV or being played in the stadium.

Bread and Circus rule!

I’m not a huge basketball fan, but watching the Spurs play was something to behold. True team basketball can be beautiful to watch. I’ve never seen so many passes by one team. It was also nice to see a team with no thugs come out on top. :)

I always thought Tim Duncan came across as a class act and a gentleman

One of my favorite stories about Tim:

An elderly woman wheels her grocery cart to her car, and as she begins to unload them, an extremely tall, black man says, "Those are too heavy for you. Let me help you with those."
The lady is somewhat taken aback, and then realizes the soft spoken man who is loading her groceries is Tim Duncan.

A throwback team to the old Celtics. Fun to watch such passing vs the old one on one rat-ball.

They’re probably got the most team-oriented offense I’ve seen since the Seattle Supersonics of the mid-90s.

I hated that team never won a championship. They took Jordan, Pippen and the Bulls as close as anyone. Just buzzsaw defense and offense.

Trayvon James will play with Carmelo Anthony next year. I think the Heat send Chris Bosh packing and have Anthony name the price. So once more instead of playing team basketball to win championships they’ll go with a line-up of all-stars.
Spurs should have beaten them last year. Spurs are the best team in the NBA, and have been for years.

HAHAHA that one made me laugh! I hope the Bulls don’t try going after him again. Unless they do a straight Boozer for LeBron trade which would never happen. I’d take one diva to dump another.
