When you have tens of millions of dollars, it really doesn’t matter if you can speak English properly.

They are paid to shoot a little round thing into a net mounted on a pole. For entertainment of the people who find it entertaining.

Who cares if they speak Klingon?

My all-time favorite athlete comment was by Marvin Barnes who saw his team's itinerary, unaware of time zone changes, and said "I ain't getting on no time machine."

James was drafted out of HS, never went to college. Wade left Marquette after 3 years, AFAIK he never graduated.

You’re right! These media reporters are dumb, they make some of the most stupidest questions ever! I hate those “tell us how you feel” “express your emotions”! Ugh!!

Or Jason Kidd upon being drafted out of Cal by, if I recall correctly, by the Nets...
“I’m gonna turn this team around 360 degrees”

Tim Duncan was very well-spoken and intelligent. No slang, no slurring,no grammatical gaffes. ALL the Spurs actually, even the 22-year old spoke well and with class and modesty.

TRUE!!! About these jock sniffers. I never watch and greatly resent that my cable bill supports pro sports in America. I have no use for any of it. Though I respect the hockey leagues and pro-baseball a little bit. I despise the NBA and NFL.

San Antonio is not a typical NBA team, I’m glad they won. The games were available for free over the internet.

“Can any of these two illiterate dolts put a sentence together?”

Blame the reporters for always hounding them for quotable material for their low information audiences. These guys are not good at English but are 20 mil a year professionals

Tim Duncan graduated college in 1997. More players should use him as a role model.

And Duncan had the best possible mentor in the NBA in David Robinson.

“And they are college graduates?”

No, James is not. He went to the NBA right out of high school.

David Robinson, Christian, Naval Academy graduate and former San Antonio Spur. But, sadly, to some here on FR, I guess he's just a thug since he was in the NBA.

Tim Duncan graduated from Duke, and the black NBA fans I work around despise him for being too white

Tim Duncan was a graduate of Wake Forest, not Duke.

The Heat were big supporters of Trayvon, perhaps they received English lessons from Racheal Jentel.

Lebron never went to college and both are paid for their ability to entertain people by playing the game of basketball rather than their oratory.

I loved it when the Spurs had David Robinson and Tim Duncan as the twin towers on the court. They could take any team apart in minutes if they were playing with a passion.
