Sonic Issues New “Anti-Gun Policy,” Employee Robbed Same Day
The Right To Bear ^ | June 16, 2014 | The Right To Bear

Shortly after Chipotle asked its patrons not to bring guns into its restaurants any longer, Sonic jumped on the anti-gun bandwagon.

It seems criminals were aware of the new policy because the very same day it went into effect, one of their carhops was robbed on the premises of a Sonic.

Two black males, ages 17-19, held up the carhop and threatened him before they took his money and fled. Though a firearm wasn’t used to rob the employee, there was no way to stop the robbery since guns were not allowed.

Sonic: No Guns AllowedIt’s become increasingly obvious that “No guns allowed” signs actually invite crime, rather than deter it. So it’s unlikely that Sonic’s effort to appease anti-gun advocates like Mom’s Demand Action will produce the results they want.

The employee ought to sue for encouraging an unsafe working environment.

Sonic is a DRIVE IN. How do they expect to enforce
this stupidity?

Life is not without it’s own sense of irony... and justice.

I will not patronize ANY place that doesn’t respect my right to carry.

And I’ll carry anyway, even if I DO go there.

I think this is the environment that the left truly WANTS to happen - where people cannot defend themselves from criminals seeking “reparations”.

If the employer denies the employee the right to self defense, the employer is inherently guaranteeing the safety of the employees.

They failed and need to pay damages.

Sonic is a drive in, they can’t even enforce a legal not gun policy.

Never give an order you know won’t be followed.

The sign says it all. Open invitation to gun-toting criminals.

Are there Sonic locations that have indoor access?

In the Denver Metro area its either drive-up or car hop.

Their “policy” has no impact on your rights inside your vehicle!

The employee was negligent in that he failed to carry a small squeeze bottle of ammonia or other noxious substance to squirt into the eyes of his assailants.

All the Sonic’s I have been to are drive-ins, not seated restaurants. Do they expect people not to have guns in their cars?

I conceal carry and frankly would ignore these signs but I will not patronize companies that cave to the liberals on this. I find I eat out a lot less.

I think it’s in Kansas that a new law requires that if a business goes gun-free that that business must put up metal detectors to ensure everybody is gun-free. Suddenly a whole lot of anti-gun signs in businesses came down.
