The Koran says cats are clean. I think it says the opposite of women, who are unclean especially during their period. An Iranian, who had bossed an oil rig crew in Iran, was sent to college here because he was among the first 50 employees at a site to arrive one day. (Quite a qualification. He’d never worn shoes or driven a car.) He told me, “Can’t have sex with or even talk to a woman.” He took off his shirt and showed us amazing whip scars. He said, “A girl dropped her handkerchief as we walked home from school. I was just a kid. I picked it up and gave it back to her. Later that day her father and brothers dragged me out of my house and whipped me. I was lucky as he had the right to kill me. So, we go to the big city and find boy with smooth legs. Their handler clips their balls off so they stay good looking. You pay him and have sex. But there’s no gay people in Iran.”
This was in 1979 so they were making eunuchs in Iran in 1979. Among the first things the Ayatollah did when he returned was to execute some women prostitutes who were, I kid you not, in their late 70’s and early 80’s.
