(Spoiler) Did you watch The Game of Thrones Season 4 finale (vanity)

Posted on 06/16/2014 1:31:25 PM PDT by lulu16

Anyone feel sad that The Hound was left to die? He was one of my favorite characters, and I could not bear to see him beaten by Brianne. I think they should have at least referred to how weak he was by his previous wound that he would not let Anya ( spoiled, self-centered brat) cauterized. The Hound was always her champion and defender, loyal and even loving in his way. Killing the butcher's boy was because he was following Joffrey's order. And it was his choice, to find and save her sister, and because of that Anya (the user), should have forgiven him and taken it off her death list.

I also felt kind of weepy when Ygritte was on her pyre, her white shoulder and profile so pretty.

"You know nothing, Jon Snow."

I liked the practicality of Mance's position, and how he was easy with Jon Snow, and how they toasted their dead that was from the North.

Stannis army was a big surprise, and the formation of his troops on the overhead shot was spectacular, even though they weren't dressed for the cold weather.

I don't give a fig about Cercei, but doesn't Jamie know she is using him.

What about the Mountain. Is he dead or just mostly dead?

And why did Dany punish the two good dragons? I miss Ser Jorah at her side.

Tyrell dying on the throne.

I look forward to the Tyrion and Pycelle road show.

The collars on her dragons and the collars the former slave wanted to wear again. Very good parallel in the story.

That shot, where she looked over her shoulder at them before she closed the catacombs, wow!

Tyrion actually did Cersei a favor by killing Tywin. Now she doesn’t have to marry Loras. I haven’t read any of the books, but have been enjoying the series.

7.1 million viewers for the first hour. 9.3 million for the first hour, plus the two encore hours.

==

3 cheers for Jamie rescuing Tyrion.

I would not count the Hound out completely yet. Frequently, those old timers have a way of coming back to life.

The battle scene surrounding Bran Stark was intense. We will probably see much more of that next season.

They need more episodes and less time between seasons.

I was totally in the moment when they were crossing to their sacred tree. Hands popping out of the ground never fail to startle me.

I really felt for Meera having to mercy kill her brother Jojen. She was devoted to protecting him. I think the fireballs not only insured that he would not re-animate but killed those skeleton soldiers.

What were those things exactly? White Walkers, Wights, the bones of the First Men.

Incredible stats. I wonder if the same people who were watching the finale were not the same as the basketball game watchers. (Splint in my house.)

It helps her in not marrying Lora’s but she is ultimately doom to be an embarrassment according to the book as the head of the family

I thought it was funny when she called Loras “a renown pillow biter.”

I wonder if that line is in the book. Of what a read in the book, Loras was not sharing Renly’s linen.

Tyrel made it known, she was not as clever as she thought. Being a lush can do that to you.

Cersei could just as likely be killed by a Tyrell loyalist, in response to all the suspicion Cersei has of them and blame she’s assigned them.
Saying that Margery has her claws in her son(s).
The Tyrell coin left at the scene of Tywin’s murder (in the books) to sow discord.
With Cersei continually creating chaos and Tyrells invested in keeping their girl married to the guy on the throne (and the boy on the throne), they might kill Cersei in order to secure the throne.
Especially with Cersei’s threat to end everything by telling the truth about her children’s parentage.

Is Margery lady bountiful or was she really not caring, and manipulative when feeding the hungry people of King’s Landing.

And when she tried to mollify Joffrey, was she to smooth things over for herself and others, or does she have greater ambitions.

And if she has ambitions, are they her own or her grandmother’s.

Frankly, I do not care for the actress. I wish they would change her. (I don’t think she is pretty enough to be of the house of flowers.)

I do like the change of actor that they used for the second son that is serving Daenerys. He seems less comic book looking.

Samwell, is my unexpected, romantic lead (one of).

No the Mountain has been poisoned. It won’t end well. Well, for him.

Great episode. The title was “The Children”. And it was true to that. From Janie and Cersei and Tyrion and what they all did to Tywin. Arya coming into her own. Dany, Mother of Dragons, disciplining her “children”. Ned Stark’s son Jon Snow and Mance. Great stuff.

The scene in the coliseum was beautifully choreographed, but the Mountain knew, like we all do, you don’t stand too close to someone who is on the ground, even though you poked him with a poison spear, and you don’t keep monologuing and blowing kisses to your lady love, because that prone adversary, may have enough to take your head and squish it like a grape.

The Red Priestess had that look like, she’d like to get naked with our boy Jon and apply some leeches. I wonder if he has king’s blood in him like Gendry did. The blood of a Targaryen, perhaps? (Are they suppose to be Armenians?)

I know her name is Arya. But with their accents, especially Brianne’ is sounds to me like “Ai-ya.”

Yes and in the book Tywin keeps calling the wife a whore, but Tyrion knows now it is a lie. Tyrion tells him that if he uses that word one more time he will kill him. Then he asks Tywin where did my wife go? And Tywin says how do I know, wherever whores go... That’s when Tyrion kills him.

I think they do a great disservice most of the time when they try to rewrite what GRRM did in the first place, But then it’s always that way when you compare a book/ movie.
