Another little boy has gotten in trouble at school for having something that represents a gun but isnt actually anything like a real gun.
This time, eight-year-old Asher Palmer rolled up a piece of paper, called it a gun and pointed it at other kids, reports the New York Post.
Officials at the special-needs school in New York City which Palmer attended then expelled him.
The school is the Lang School, a ritzy private bastion which specializes in educating students with language difficulties. Annual tuition is $51,500.
Asher is exactly the type of student Lang is supposed to be serving, the boys frustrated mother, Melina Spadone, told the Post. Why they did this doesnt make sense.
The principal at Lang, Micaela Bracamonte who insists on calling herself the head of school also reportedly informed school employees that eight-year-old Asher had a model for physically aggressive behavior in his immediate family.
Spadone isnt sure who that model would be, but she said she imagines Bracamonte is referring to her husband, who was an American soldier during the Gulf War.
I find it offensive and inappropriate, the mad mom told the Post.
Spadone explained that her son, a first grader, fashioned the rolled-up piece of paper after he talked with his father about weapons used in the military.
Ashers teachers didnt take the piece of paper away. Instead, they just warned him not to point the menacing piece of paper at anyone.
Eventually, of course, he pointed the piece of paper at another kid.
School officials have also claimed that he declared that he would kill a girl, apparently in a separate incident. Consequently, Bracamonte alleged that the little boy had a concrete plan for killing another student.
Spadone suggested that her eight-year-old son likely wasnt using the word kill literally.
Also, like the other kids at Lang, Asher has communication problems so he might have trouble getting his point across. Specifically, has been diagnosed with ADHD and speech issues.
The angry mother said she and her husband have spent almost $120,000 for tuition and one-on-one tutoring at Lang so far in just five months with the understanding that he would attend the school long-term.
We did not invest $120,000 toward Ashers success for a five-month period, she vented at the principal in an email obtained by the Post. It was understood, and, in fact, contractually agreed, that Asher would be returning next year.
But Bracamonte informed her that the use of pretend guns on fellow students and mention of killing was enough to warrant the boys expulsion.
The principal, who has refused to speak to the press, also advised home-schooling for Asher.
Spadone works at a private equity firm. She and her husband are currently in the midst of a divorce.
Another parent with a child at the school told the Post that Asher relates to other kids just fine.
Asher himself seemed sad about the expulsion. I like being with my friends, he told the newspaper.
Rolling paper is just a gateway to biting a pop-tart into the shape of a gun.
Consequently, Bracamonte alleged that the little boy had a concrete plan for killing another student.
death by a million paper cuts????
You know when this mentality started? It started with the acceptance of “Sentencing Guidelines” in criminal cases. The Feds started it first. I remember a general shift to “all crimes ARE created equal.” No they are not. And while this is obviously no crime, the facts of every situation need to be considered. The “if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime” meme is idiotic. We certainly considered every case on it’s facts when I prosecuted.
The libtards have promoted themselves and ‘fellow travelers’ to the highest ranks and have now achieved critical mass that they feel they can do total indoctrination with impunity
“Rolling paper is just a gateway to biting a pop-tart into the shape of a gun.”
Next they will remove children’s fingers, because they can be formed into gun shapes.
A rubber band and a paper clip is much more deadly.
I think the naval definition of "head" applies here.
And then he will see clouds that are shaped like guns.
Get the deciding administrator removed for gross incompetence unto inability to care for entrusted children, on grounds of confusing a common sheet of paper & mimicking behavior (commonly seen on TV) with a deadly weapon & violent intent.
He’s 8! When I was 8 I was pretty sure that I could fly if I could just find the right wings!
ep. It spread to schools in the form of “zero tolerance” which was instituted so that teachers and principals automatically deferred to a one size fits all guideline.
On a very deep level, this is having the desired effect of training children to avoid anything that even remotely resembles the shape of a gun. This is how liberals work. Planning the future of the next generation that will not disarm themselves, but will never have armed in the first place.
How the “head of school” as it called itself....could determine that this kid had plans....to kill anybody....is PREPOSTEROUS!
The real crime here in the eyes of liberals is that this little boy (normal in all respects) has a penis.
That’s just not acceptable in their eyes unless he’s succumbed to the notion that he’s innately self-identified transgendered or some such horsesh!t.
Banning all Paper Clips and rubber bands...from gubment school buildings and grounds....might prove to be a bit of a problem..but some SLUG may demand it anyway.
Exactly, let us see this “plan”. Is it in crayon? Was it done using unacceptable colors? Aggressive colors? I remember when I was in elementary school the boys were always drawing carnage. I have yet to hear of any of them in the news.
The next time this crap happens, the defendant should say they are portraying indigenous people of the Amazon performing ritualistic sustenance rituals and the say it represents the oppression of by the rain forest loggers. Case closed.
