The number of fans cheering Mexico at the World Cup has taken observers in Brazil by surprise. But talk to those waving the green-white-and-red, and it becomes clear that when the tournament ends, many will return home not to Mexico, but to the United States.

Now would be an EXCELLENT time to seal the borders and not let them back in.
What do the World Cup stats tell us about goal scoring in Brazil?
Its been a great World Cup. When the tournament finally featured its first, inevitable stultifying 0-0 draw between Iran and Nigeria, many joked that finally, the actual World Cup had begun. In recent decades, the World Cup has featured defensive tactics and cagey games with few attackers making dangerous runs. In the first seventeen matches of the last World Cup, there were just 28 goals scored. Already Brazil 2014 has seen 49 goals.
I wish I posted that.
Ticked me off when I was in the Army and I would see people with other countries flags flying at sports events and.such. if they are so dang proud of that country, they can get bent and go.there!
El-im-in-a-do! El-im-in-a-do!
I got the past laugh as I believe the USA won the game.
Ha ha.
Seeing him scrambling around on his knees as Chile scored their first, then palming a free kick down into his goalmouth to present them with a second was painfully embarrassing.

Cameroon star Benoit Assou-Ekotto head-butts own player
Cameroon went down fighting - off the ball and amongst themselves - as they exited the World Cup on Wednesday with Alex Song adding a red card to the ill-disciplined African nation's long list in a thumping 4-0 defeat by Croatia.
The Europeans were already leading 1-0 when Barcelona midfielder Song opted for a petulant elbow smash into the back of Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic in the 40th minute of their Group A clash in Manaus.
As Mandzukic collapsed in agony, Portuguese referee Pedro Proenca swiftly dismissed Song - the eighth red card for Cameroon in seven World Cup finals appearances.
Cameroon 0:4 Croatia Match Highlights
Cameroon are out, and utterly useless with it. No great surprise. They seemed more interested in their bonus money than in the glory of the competition.
Spain are out and, as the article suggests, with a whimper and not a bang. Perhaps glutted with winning their past three big competitions, they no longer had the hunger. It wasn’t just their king who abdicated. They didn’t have the stomach for the fight any more. End of an era.
Australia are out, and here is the difference: The Aussies fought, and they were very impressive, and deserved a point against the Dutch. There is no shame in their exit. They exposed a few chinks in the Dutch armour. I don’t think Holland will win it. They kicked the rotting edifice of Spanish domination to the ground, but they will face sterner, more solid, tests, later on.
Bad luck Australia.
They may have come from the US, but they don’t have US passports (or US visas).

Basically, to realise it could be a terrible, long, frustrating summer if we dont get it right on Thursday, Gerrard recalled. There is no hiding place for a player when you go out of a tournament earlier than you expect. It can be tough and it can take an awful long time to get over it. A lot of people know that in the dressing room but there are a few young lads in there too, so it was important for them to realise what is at stake and how important this game is.I have been there. I have had that feeling. So I know what that feeling is about and that is the feeling I dont want on Friday morning. It wasnt a message to scare any of the lads but it was a wake-up call to everyone in the room. It wasnt to scare anyone, or intimidate anyone, but this is the reality of where we are and we need everyone focused and right on it, individually and collectively, on Thursday, otherwise it is going to be a terrible, long summer.
