Posted on 06/22/2014 6:45:22 AM PDT by Uncle Chip
KUALA LUMPUR: The captain of Flight MH370 has been identified as the prime suspect by a Malaysian police investigation into the disappearance of the plane after checks cleared all other people on board, a media report said today.
The criminal inquiry does not rule out the possibility the Boeing 777-200 plane was lost due to mechanical failure or terrorism, but the police view is that if it was the result of human action, the captain was the most likely perpetrator, The Sunday Times reported.
Malaysia's special branch focused the inquiry on Captain Zaharie Shah, 53, after intelligence checks failed to substantiate any suspicions about the other people on board the jet, the report said....
Detectives conducted more than 170 interviews. They found that Zaharie, an outgoing, married man with a penchant for gadgetry and postings on social media, appeared to have made no social or work commitments for the future, the report said....
The investigators found that Zaharie had programmed a flight simulator in his home with drills rehearsing a flight far out into the southern Indian Ocean and a landing on an island with a short runway.
These were deleted but computer experts were able to retrieve them, the report said.
The pilot had made no secret of his unusual hobby, creating aviation videos that were posted on the Internet.
But behind the facade of a normal family life in a comfortable Kuala Lumpur suburb, with three children and a five-year-old grandson, police heard rumours of marital estrangement and tensions that have been denied by Zaharie's family, it said....

and that island would be --
The plane is at the bottom of the Indian Ocean.
Any good guesses on islands in the southern Indian Ocean that have runways of any kind?
Hey Issa....buy a clue
Was he a Sunni like our president?
Where the Nazis are!!!
It’s at the bottom of the ocean for sure. I think he called the tower and said that he would crash the plane unless certain demands were not met regarding the release of his buddy that went to prison the day before. They didn’t comply so he crashed it. http://shanghaiist.com/2014/03/17/links-between-mh370-disappearance-zaharie-politics-dismissed.php
That seems like a very probable scenario.
What function would a plane of this nature have in terrorist hands? Consider 9/11 with an EMP, NORK/Nukes, or a chemical weapon payload coming into a large American city (LA, NYC, Washington?) and let you imagination go from there...
My guess as to the island on his computeror is New Amsterdam:
It appears to be the destination of the 450knot flight path that the NTSB initially charted then abandoned:
Was the captain a member of the ROP? That’s all you need to know.
I will say this again and again...
It would be one of the lamest terror attempts to use a plane everyone knows went missing. Everyone in the world KNOWS about it and knows they would have to watch for it.
Also lame even if it was literally just a transport. Why draw so much attention to your conspiracy with a worldwide news item?
He was a MINO —
He wasn't and isn't in jail -- so there would be no reason to make the demand.
Hey Issa....buy a clue”
You read my mind!
But could he have made it to that island with the fuel he had on board?
A plane that size, crammed with just conventional explosives would probably be the equivalent of a small nuke.
If crammed with dirty bomb material, much worse.
Yes he could have but just barely and with luck.
They said he had fuel for 7.5 to 8 hours at 520mph — 3900 to 4160 miles.
The path that he flew would have been 4230 miles — out of reach but it could still have been a target destination and may be in the waters a couple hundred miles short of it — if that is the island on his computer.
Then again with all the focus on tracking regular normal Americans daily lives by the .gov "protectors" they just might miss the OBVIOUS...
Really? Slight change of subject, but if the Malaysians can do it ... ... We have invented a Fourth World status and we are it.
The people who retrieved them for the Malaysians were our own FBI —
They know their way to Malaysia in southeast Asia but can’t find their way to the IRS in Washington DC.
You left out bioweapons, but I agree. I think we have to assume the plane is up and functional somewhere, at least until we see the wreckage. Otherwise, a paint job, a busy pattern, an alleged divert/inflight emergency, and there could be a real problem...
Believe what you want, I prefer to stay on alert until I see proof that the plane is not a danger...
I was a quick bit this morning, that the search will be moved south a couple hundred miles.
Sounds like they’ve some reason for that, maybe we’ll know more about this in a couple weeks.
“I saw”. Sorry it’s early.
no, it doesn’t
He’d have to hope that the winds were in his favor.
<>Sounds like theyve some reason for that<>
My guess as well because it seems to me that if they knew that the pilot had been targeting a certain island on his computer then that should have figured heavily in their search area — and their initial surface search area was way south and way over by New Amsterdam.
The coordinates for New Amsterdam are: S37.84E77.55 and right close to the final Inmarsat here:
So...who is lying?
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation recovered no incriminating evidence from the hard drives and a flight simulator belonging to two pilots on Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the New York Times reported citing anonymous sources. And
It turned out, however, that neither the simulator nor the deleted data recovered offered any significant information to establish a connection between Zaharie and the mystery of Flight MH370.For those interested, I found this while browsing for the FBI final results (which have not been made public).
One problem, New Amsterdam is only reachable by boat. The nearest airport is 1500 miles away.
I hate to say it but it sounds like just the place where he would have wanted to go and why he had practiced extreme landings for the last year —
With only 30 people on that island if he could land the plane showing up there with 239 more people then he could be King of New Amsterdam.
“southern Indian Ocean and a landing on an island with a short runway. “
So he may have landed, then took off again while the authorities were still having breakfast and tripping over their shoelaces?
I think “short runway” means that he would be able to get it down but not back up.
But that is the point: it’s very apparent that a 777 might be suspicious.
Besides, Moslem MO is to shock and awe. If this plane was to be used, it would be too long waiting for the real action. We know it started, but it should be so fast we can’t do anything about it. Like 9/11.
We’re already aware.
Someone early on must have been given a heads up:
This charted flight path hits New Amsterdam right on —
Interesting that somebody wants to make the captain the bad guy. Who would want to do that? hmmmm....
Maybe the people who offed the 20 computer experts who were on their way to China?
I don't see any airport there. Just a tiny village at the northeast corner.
It doesn't look like the topography would be very favorable to constructing an airport.
Actually the liberal mentality has been in charge of this investigation for the last 3 months — that mentality that blames inanimate objects for crimes rather than the people who operate them — like blaming guns for shootings and computers and planes for crashes.
No one’s ever to blame — no one’s ever at the controls — these things just have a mind of their own
I think that’s why he needed a simulator — to practice landing on topography like that or on a short strip of asphalt road or in a crabrun on the beach or in the waters just offshore.
The first investigators must have suspected this or gotten a heads-up from his computer — note their yellow NTSB flight path. It ends up right at New Amsterdam — right on the last Inmarsat arc:
And IIRC early on there was a significant air and sea search of the waters right there.
He may not have made it but it doesn’t mean that he didn’t try — that is, if that is the island in his computer.
Are we really aware? Looks like the “That happened months ago, who cares?” crowd is already purging the plane from the memory of the low-information voter. If it didn’t crash, and was indeed hijacked to become a weapon, most will never remember it until after the crater. They’ll read about it somewhere behind beibers next folly and the kardashian divorce...just like zero...
Red flight path to S28 E98.1 as MH370 flies @ 460mph would be 3336 miles from KLA.
Yellow flight path to Amsterdam Island S37.84 E87.55 as the MH370 flies @ 518mph would be 4230 miles from KLA and that path is here:
The Australian government started by searching near the northeast end of the seventh arc, partly because that location was consistent with an aircraft that was limping slowly through the sky because it was damaged, or one that had burned a great deal of fuel in altitude changes.
I don’t recall this search unless he is referring to the South China Sea search —
MH370 pilots wife breaks silence, confirms Zaharies voice from cockpit, says The Telegraph
So are the Malaysian investigators now going to call her a liar or tell her that she doesn’t know her own husband’s voice???
Did they look ON the island? Wouldn’t that be fun?
I hope so —
But my guess is that they realized that he did not have the fuel nor the time to get there and it would not have been possible to reach it by autopilot. So they searched the waters short of there and left it at that.
